We purchased one of the new George Foreman Wheel It & Grill It Gas BBQ Grills. Has anyone bought one and tried it yet? And if so, do you like it? We have the indoor type of George Foreman and wonder if the Wheel It & Grill It Outdoor Grill would actually be any different than just cooking on the indoor one? I would appreciate any info any of you can give on this. Thanks!

I have both a George Foreman grill & an old-fashioned well-seasoned Lodge cast-iron grill pan. The George Foreman grill is currently residing in the basement, while my Lodge lives on in the kitchen. For $20-$25 tops, the Lodge will grill everything from steaks to sea scallops, leaving those lovely grill marks & true "grill" taste & texture. George Foreman is more of a "steamer". And really, my Lodge pan seasoned up fairly quickly. It doesn't take much. Just some vegetable oil or shortening (like Crisco) & some heating & cooling time. You end up with a fabulous piece of non-stick cooking equipment that just requires a no-soap scrub for a fraction of what you'd pay for something more "frou frou".

I too think the GF is a "classic"! GF: paninis, chicken breast, turkey burgers, teriyaki skewers, french toast, grilled zucchini, you can even cook an egg on the GF by tilting it up...endless possibilities Blender: smoothies with every kind of fruit and yogurt are a yummy healthy breakfast (add spinach to a blueberry smoothie, they will never know) Crockpot: do you know you can slow cook a meatloaf in a crockpot? Stews, soups, casseroles, baked potatoes Rice cooker: add lentils to the rice and cook, add edamame too. BBQ: pizza and everything you would normally BBQ! Fondue pot: bring back the fondue--my kids love this cheesey goop! Toaster: turned on it's side and lined with aluminum can heat a slice of pizza Breakfast for dinner using an electric skillet: pancakes, sausages.
