Husband loves this one. I'm not a fan of cooked pineapple, but it really works in this. I'm too lazy to skewer everything. Just toss it all in the grill basket. Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs Ingredients * 1/2 cup soy sauce * 1/2 cup cider vinegar * 4 tablespoons honey * 4 tablespoons vegetable oil * 10 small mushrooms * 2 green onions, minced * 3 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into chunks * 1/2 pound sliced thick cut bacon, cut in half * 1 (8 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained * Green, red and/or yellow peppers, in 1 inch slices * Medium onion, in chunks * skewers Directions In a large bowl, mix the soy sauce, cider vinegar, honey, vegetable oil and green onions. Place the mushrooms and chicken into the mixture, and stir to coat. Cover, and marinate in the refrigerator at least 1 hour. Preheat grill for high heat. Wrap the chicken chunks with bacon, and thread onto skewers so that the bacon is secured. Alternate with mushrooms, pineapple, peppers and onions. Lightly oil the grill grate. Arrange skewers on the prepared grill. Cook 15 to 20 minutes, brushing occasionally with remaining soy sauce mixture, until bacon is crisp and chicken juices run clear. (Or broil five minutes per side)

I just brush slices ( length wise slices) of zucchini, egg plant, red and green peppers...as well as fat crosswise slices of sweet onion and slices of porto bello mushrooms....with an italian or french salad dressing, and grill. Linda C

I always think that something built in like that that can break is something you have to fix at some point. And how is the venting on those units? I hate greasy smoke, so that would be a minus. I have something similar to a foreman that I use constantly -- the Cuisinart Griddler. It's something to consider in the middle. It is expensive though, I think around $110? $120? I honestly don't remember. I bought it years ago. But it has lasted longer than any grill I have ever used, and I use it more than most people use their grills, I think. Almost daily for something. Grilling muffins or naan or reheating tortillas or even a frozen burrito or something. Comes with 2 removable sets of grill plates - 1 flat, 1 ridged, comes with a tool to clean them. They go in the dishwasher. The coating is perfect after 3 years of daily use. I wouldn't buy any grill without removable plates. They stink after just a few uses! You can even open it out flat and cook eggs or pancakes and things on it if you need to. And the lid hinge swings free, ensuring that the lid presses flat down on everything, not pinches it at an angle, like a pair of scissors. I used it almost exclusively during my renovation, as my microwave tended to blow the circuits. It can get very hot (you can control the temperature, warm to very hot). And it caramelizes without burning (unless I'm very careless). True, it's not a substitute for a gas grill, but neither is the electric. But if the foreman has these features, or the features that you care about, and it's cheaper, then go with that!

I can't imagine cob corn in a Foreman short of slicing them into halves or even fourths, unless you cut them into little disks which, eh. Seems like it'd take forever with dubious results trying to do it whole. I've thought a few times about a Foreman and nearly bought one with the removable plates that was on clearance but really couldn't justify it. Between an electric frypan the Nesco and the glass bowl convection oven, I'm not sure that it can do much for me in addition to what I have except 2 sided frying for burgers and such and actually the convection does almost the same. Plus I hear such mixed results with users. Guess it's a love it or don't even want it appliance. My biggest problem is the grease dripping into the tray. Not sure I'd want to deal with that.
