How to make counter-depth fridge look built in?

Hi all-

We're choosing appliances for kitchen reno and love the look of a built-in fridge, but can't afford one. In our last house we slid the old top-mount fridge into a recess so that front of the door was flush with cabinetry. There as a small, maybe 1/2" gap on either side, to allow the door to open, and it looked great.

We're buying a counter-depth French door (probably Jenn Air Euro) this time, and would like the same look. But I think with two doors we'd need quite a bit of clearance on the sides for them to open properly, right? In which case we can't have the fronts of the doors flush with caninets, they'll have to stick out.

But some of you have used filler strips around and above your CD FD fridges, right? How does that look? Can anyone post any pics for us to see?

Thank you!!

Stacey
