I wish someone would respond to your question--I'm trying to decide between the Electrolux and the Advantium. I would like to know how the browning element works in this. Do you know anything about the microwave mode?

Sorry false alarm! I do not have one but I am also curious about the Electrolux speed oven because I am planning on purchasing the Icon ovens. If it is comparable to the Advantium in performance I would seriously consider buying one.

Good Luck with this. Over the past 8 months I've been to many dealers, and no one had ever seen one. I was told that they were all recalled because the colour of their touch pad when lit up was a different colour than the oven (red vs. blue I think). I finally saw one in a store, it was marked scratch 'n dent/discontinued. The salesperson couldn't even open it up.

Finally decided to give it up on Electrolux, and will likely choose the GE Double Oven Trivection. Not high speed, but at least I can see what I'm getting, and the reviews have been pretty good.

My Electrolux Speed Oven is going to be installed this week. I bought the Professional series which just became available in January. The info that came with it makes my head spin so hope I understand how to use it.

I am planning on the Designer series speed oven over a single 30" wall oven. I am sooooo anxious to hear anything! It looks great and all the info sounds great but does it live up? I can't wait to hear all about it. I'm also installing a 36" induction (Electrolux Icon, again).

Souprqt---I have the 30" wall oven under the speed oven, like you. Will post a pic when the remodel gets done. I was hoping to use the speed oven this weekend but when the electrician went to install he realized that he needed another part. I went with a gas cooktop and warming drawer by Wolf instead of all Electrolux. Did get the Electrolux dishwasher so hope it cleans well.

My local rep was also suggesting the Icon oven over the avantium. He claimed the avantium created a tuff outer surface on the food. I am not sure that is true but that is what he said. So Eurostoves is not the only dealer pushing the icon.

My dealer also told me that the Icon speed oven is actually made by sharp. They had the sharp model in the store, the model number was R-90GC. Ofcourse the sharp model does not look as good and it doesnt have the filler panels for 30" like the icon.

Hi.. We saw an Electrolux oven demo'd at a local appliance store late last year (December?) and while I'm not sure if it was a Speed oven or not, it was certainly slick.. It had huge glass doors that were very easy to see in, lots of light,etc.

We're not in a need for new ovens (we've got 4 -- but only two are hooked up currently), but will keep them in mind for the future.

My Electrolux speed oven was installed a couple of weeks ago. So far I like it. Seems easy to use and it does cook fast. I love that the door swings down. I tried the recipe mode last week, it works great. All you do is follow the recipe book directions, place it in the oven and press the corresponding number and it automatically cooks with micro and convection. Last night I made scalloped potatoes in less than 30 minutes.

My Electrolux high speed and 30" ovens are sitting here waiting to be installed. I would love to hear more comments and hints about using the high speed. Some day I will be able to comment!

My in-laws have one... we're living at their house while ours is being remodeled. It is a nice unit. We've used a few of the pre-programmed recipes... they all have worked very well... especially the herbed whole chicken.

Baked products work well also... muffins, scones, etc. Of course, as a microwave it is very good too. Oh... the defrost function is top-notch. We defrosted bone-in chicken breasts the other day perfectly... no whitish "rubbery" edges... just nicely defrosted chicken.

We haven't tried the grill mode... I just can't bring myself to do it... the outdoor grill is just 20' away... I wouldn't want to ruin a steak.

Some caveats... Make sure you wipe it down each time you roast something. My sister in-law, bless her, is a bit of a messy cook. The stainless interior of her unit has a caramelized film of old grease residue all over the interior... we can't figure out a way to clean it very well. The instructions say not to use a chemical cleaner... the "self-cleaning" mode (more of a Refresh Mode) doesn't do the job on this stuff. I've come to the conclusion that the best way to avoid it is to keep it clean in the first place.

We ended up choosing the Advantium 240... we got a good deal on it, and I preferred the looks (will match our Monogram Fridge)... I'll post some comparisons once our house is up and running (2-3 months, hopefully).

I am curious too and would love to see comments on the Electrolux speed oven. I believe there is a 24 inch wide model now.

We have been using our Electrolux High Speed Wall Oven for just about a year now. Like anything, it has it's good points and bad. First the good: looks great! We have it installed directly above our electrolux oven. It does a pretty good job of cooking most of the things that we have tried in it. (Do not try frozen pizza!) Now the bad: the operations of it seems overly complicated and we have had to get the book out countless time to do, what seems, are the simplest things. The books are lame. Not great at explaining or defining things and I find that frustrating. I'm willing to learn but need to have the tools. What I hate the most is the cleaning of it, or better put, the lack of being able to. Unlike a regular oven, there is no self cleaning button and worse yet, there isn't ANYTHING you can use to clean it except soap and water. I don't think I'm a slob by any means but I am just not in the habit of having the clean inside the oven EVERY TIME I use it. So now after only having our oven for a year it looks bad. I would have to say if I would have know that fact, I would not have purchased it. Seems like big bucks to pay for something that they can't even figure out how to keep looking nice for many many years. There's my thoughts, hope they help anyone considering it.

Bumping this again because I am interested in the Electrolux Professional High Speed Oven as well to put over an Pro 20" oven.
