Saving seed...best way from the experts?

Do you experienced types ferment your seed or just rinse it & let it dry? Today I squished seed out from Amish paste, black cherry & cherokee purple & then rinsed it & left it to dry on paper towels.

If you have followed my Sungold F1 "experiment" with all the volunteers, I've not found one that I would bother to try to grow out. I'm just too new to this to figure out which might improve if grown out. The F1 plants have been all over the board with the fruit they produced and none have been that tasty. Some had a bit of promise with very tangy pulp with sweet meat next to the skin, but weren't that consistant.

A really big thank you to Mark & Carolyn & any others for their advice, patience & attention to my clueless newbie posts.

Maybe in a few years time I'll be ready to attempt to grow out a hybrid! In the interim I'll stick with known OP types (and grow Sungold from seed). :)

Carie.
