Beautiful photo!! Is your camera a Fuji? I remember reading that in a post, but I may be wrong. I have a Fuji S5100 and I love mine. I need to get a telephoto lens for it though for birds.

You were very busy & it all looks great. Frogs are so cute, love the iron chicken in the basket! Do I get that with fries? (I miss the "Purple Cow" a drive-in that my hubby & I always went to when he took me back to college Sun. nights. We loved their food & malts- took our kids there years later & not so good- maybe being"newly" in love made the food taste better. Oh, they had chicken in a basket with fries(think it was them) Brookings,) So. Dak. Hope you have more nice days so you can work outside more. I'm just managing to keep all the stuff I planted watered & my dad's flower garden.3 bros flew in for dad's 95th birthday & their 70th anniversary tomorrow great surprise, dad liked seeing what I had done along side of house but it isn't filling in very fast as been so hot. hope it rains this weekend. I have the same sort of activity going on in my pond, but with toads. There are times that you can't even sit out back that their croaking gets so loud, it's almost ear-piercing....even my dogs refuse to go out back when they're in the "love" mode. It's more of a shrill than a croak and they just go back and forth. Then I look in the ponod and like in your picture, there are 2 or 3 toads on top of a female toad, almost drowning her. Some of the "pairs" are in the water, while others are just sitting on the rocks. Come the next morning, there are tons of frog eggs stuck in my plants. The koi love it! I have also seen tons of baby toads scampering everywhere -- they're so cute. I hate to walk by the pond though because they're everywhere and I'm afraid I'll crush them. This "activity" seems to take place every couple of weeks and I'm just wondering for how long. It does make the pond have a nasty smell for a couple of days, but I do water changes and it seems to take care of that. I love my frogs no matter how much noise they make -- it's froggy love............. Cindy Jax, FL

How sweet! I love sitting outside in the evening listening to the chorus. Had to laugh at my husband when I pointed out one particular frog sound and he said he thought all the noise was crickets or birds. Are you familiar with the Florida Wildlife Extension frog page? Good stuff. I went outside this morning to find a spawn of frog eggs in the pond. Curious if it is the tree frog or the southern leopard frog. Thanks for the compliments on the flowers and the pets. I'm a huge animal nut.. I actually have 4 cats and a dog, as well as dart frogs and the lizard. Remi is the dog, and she's 100% mutt, but we think she could be vizsla/boxer or some other pointing dog mixed with boxer or perhaps pit. Kimba is very pretty, but she's got the calico attitude for sure! South seas is my favorite so far, as well as the orange/red NOID. Entrapment has been blooming every day for about 6 weeks now, so I love that one too! As always, I look forward to all your pictures and conversations, as I have learned so much from the forum already!

Yes, the S5200. My first one fell into a bucket of fish water. This is the second one. I love it too.

This is kinda scary. When you lived in Tampa, almost every time you found a new critter, I found the same critter just a day or so later. Well, it's baaa-aaack! LOL! Yesterday in the refuge, I came across a Leopard Frog sitting in the road. I do believe it's the first one I've actually seen. Your pic is way better, though. I had to take mine from the idling truck. The zoom is great, but lighting wasn't.

Hmmm, is that a Leopard or a Pickerel Frog? Easier to tell down here, coz we don't have Pickerels. 8-]

Let's test it out. Next week I'll take a pic of a pot of gold and see what happens.

It's a leopard, definitely, and a lady at that. A pickerel would have square or rectangular "spots", and a male's ear spot would be as big, or bigger, than his eye. Great pic by the way.

Southern Leopard frog because of light spot in the center of it's tympanum. Your's has a lot of green which is pretty. Often they are more brown. CT
