Landlord's roof repair - noise during day for day sleeper
Q

I, too, am puzzled by the 2-3 months. Why would it take so long? But if the roof needs repairing, the landlord does have an obligation to everyone who lives in the building to fix it, to say nothing of protecting his investment in the building. Can you request that the repairs over your section of the roof be done all at once, so you will have a week or so of loud noise and then the noise will shift to another section of the roof? Can you wear earplugs? Use a white noise machine? I realize that neither of these will shut out all the noise, or any banging and crashing that is going on, but they might shut out enough so that you can get some sleep.

May Day-Derby Day-Mother Goose Day...what did you do?

Luckygal, where in the world are you? Somewhere near a beach obviously--but which one. Sorry no good luck on the TS shopping, do keep trying! Jeanne, I have two baker's racks outside, one is a corner unit--but neither look nearly as cute as yours with your collections and vignettes. I need to work on mine I think. That is so neat that you do the Farmer's market too. Candy, I'm another one who does tablescapes for my "imaginary" friends. DH will only eat at the table when we have company--rest of the time he prefers to eat in front of the tv. Karen, I didn't do a table, but I did glue a little cheese tray and glass dome on a pedestal and decorate it--can I get any points for that? ;o) Kathleen, the rooster napkins like in your photo that you shared with me are some of my favs. We don't do sit down breakfast often, but I like to just sit the table and display them on the plates because they look so cute.

It's a stay home day ALL day!

Stayed home all day today. Only accomplishment was to bathe Georgyâ¦..she got hold of a frozen dead fish from a nearby pond while DH was walking her. He thought it was a stick. Needless to say, she smelled pretty bad. We're going out to dinner shortly and then I have to play bridge. We're suppose to get 3 -4 inches of snow tonight so driving home should be fun. I do have 4-wheel and as long as it isn't icy, I'll be okay.

Dumb granite questions - day to day
Q

In 2002 when we remodeled the kitchen (with the help of the GW Kitchen Forum) the holy grail of granite cleaner was a "homebrew" of 50/50 alcohol/water/. Some say you don't need that much alcohol but I like the smell :) Clean with a microfiber cloth and buff with a dry microfiber cloth. I clean most everything in my kitchen with this mixture. Soap will over time dull due to build up. It will take a while and depending on your granite, you might not noticed it as much as on other granites. I use Granite Gold as a polish after cleaning. The absolute BEST polish (imo) is Black Diamond's Granite Polish Preserver. I've never found it in a store. You have to order it on line. I need to order more. Love how slick it makes my counters. I put my hot pans on my granite and have never had a problem. Some say you can and some say don't.

you mean me? I had no idea I was missed :) I have been "back" for a couple weeks now after being "gone" from this forum for um....a year? two? *sigh*. I was only visiting Photography and Graphics for awhile. But then there was chaos when the site policy changed so that we didn't own our photos (or anything else that we put here) if we posted them here....so I left...but I crept back in when trying to ID some wasp galls. I try not to post any pics anymore though unless I don't care if they're taken.

Not since the Monkees in the late '60s has any artist put so many titles in the top ten as day by day has on this forum.

Here I am, as well. Not enough time as I'd like for pics and puter. Trying to sell this place and move across the state. (Anybody wanna move to Flarda? ) Packing, sorting, freecycling... It's amazing how much useless junk one can accumulate in 8 years.

Hey all'y'all - I learned that phrase over on the Cooking Forum.

I'm glad I started this - I don't check in here every single day, but when I do, well I just love all the pictures and the comments. Thanks to you all (that's a North Eastern girl's terminology). We have critters up here too, you know.

Sorry, no camera here, DayByDay. Just a few critters like the woodchuck who likes Impatiens and the chipmunks who own my deck and some giant spiders who live in our garage. Nothing exotic.
