Leaning toward Murphy, and I love Finlay (actually he's a bit more of a Finney, I'll have to look and see what that means), but Reuben, Gabe and Leo are still in the running. Sorry, we have a Bailey in the family, also an April, Abby, Tommy, Ki (Kiowa), Bart, Gus, Henry, Babe, Chase, Chance, Jake, Marley, Max, Hannah and last but not least, Thud. (close friends and family). And I have had a Boomer, Brie, Rhett, Peach and Grace, may they all be happy in the big field in the everafter. This little guy will have a name by the end of the weekend, though he responds pretty promptly to "puppy! puppy! puppy! come!". Thanks all, I'm in heaven :) Keep those names comin' Sarah

What a wonderful weekend I had in MI! Cathy and I told Sherry not to go to any trouble, just toss some clean sheet on the bed. Beds were made nice and comfy, but the food! Cherry pie, rhubarb pie, carrot cake, Kalhua chocolate mousse cake, pecan cinnamon rolls, molasses cookies, chicken salad, quiche, pizza, brats, breakfast soufflé, lemon ricotta pancakes with raspberry syrup. I gained 5 pounds just typing this. We had nice long visits, great times shopping, relaxing and playing with Dexter, the snuggledog. And dear, sweet Roger, he is a trooper. Wise man that he is would just roll his eyes and go with the flow. It was so good to see Annie and Elery again. And Annie surprised us with the new 100th Anniversary Edition of the Ball Blue book. That is one hard to find book. Thanks again Annie for keeping us safe when canning. I wholeheartedly second Sherrys statement. Meet CFers when and where you can. You will not regret it Peppi And I did like the chocolate cover bacon. Sort of a sweet/salty/crunchy thing with the little bits of bacon. Not sure I would go out of my way for it, but not offensive either.

Sounds like he's big. I wouldn't be surprised if Eldora grows into a big dog too. I noticed the paws, too, Lucille! And I'm told her shoulders are large as well. Bfenton, the rescue said they think she's a mix of Black-Mouth Cur and Belgian Shepherd. I can see the Cur, but Belgian Shepherd sounds way off base to me. Chisue, I was struck by the posture too. It reminded me of when my daughter Jill found a puppy hit (but not badly injured) by the side of a road. She brought her home, and we thought maybe she had some shepherd and some terrier in her. I remember jokingly saying, "When she sits she looks like a purebred!" And as it turned out, she was. As she grew she changed completely, and turned into a French Briard.
