Thanks sassy for the frog pics. I just love them. I found a new site lately for picture storage and I think I may set up an account with them as you can make your own web address off of their site as well or so I've heard. flickr.com is the site ever hear of it. If anyone is really into taking pictures, like I am with my digital camera this would be a site for you to explore into. You can search numerous picture subjects and wow, what results all has there to share with the public. Some photos that I never thought I would have taken an interest into using as a subject has caught my eye and peaked my interest enough to say, wow, I'm gonna try that. Well worth your time to check it out and see what ya think,anyway. Just search whatever comes to your mind on what you would like to see and walllahhh, it's there in all forms. Beth, Hope your dog doesn't butcher up your lovely plants to much. I guess choppin them up with the tail is better than ingesting the foliage though. Better that end than the latter,huh or you could really have a mess on your hands. Do you have any begonias in your indoors collection, a couple kinda looked like it but I can't really tell as I'm just starting to get into the houseplants again. When my kiddies were wee little ones I gave up my houseplants for their safety but now that they're nearing graduation I felt, huh, I think it's safe now. I got a begonia plant from a garage sale and the leaves are gorgeous but I'm not sure exactly what window I should be putting it into. At the moment its in a north facing window, should it be in a south defused lighted window. Susie, did you run out and make snow angels or catch a few snow flakes with your tongue? Remember doing that as a child? Gotta keep the child spirit in all of us alive by nourishing it. May take a we bit longer to get up and down from making snow angels but just as fun as the very first time. I love all the photos everyone is contributing, this is so much fun. good morning everyone. hope you are staying warm. it's cold here, has been for the last few days and will be the next couple, but certainly not as cold as i hear on the news of other areas or your postings. i might just spend the day doing some baking or making soup - haven't yet decided, but i'm not doing anything until after a good long soak in the tub. how about that plane down in the hudson? amazing the actions of the pilot and the response of all involved in the rescue. thank God it turned out the way it did. remy, i'm so sorry to hear of your friend's passing. what a sacrifice, all the way around, that she made. ashame she didn't ask for help, or even reach out to the pharmacist to front them until she could pay. it is a disgrace how expensive meds are and pharmacuetical companies should be ashamed of their greed. janell, nice to see you. how are you little girls doing? dottie, i used several methods of labeling. if the seeds were in a little plastic baggie, i put the name inside the bag and pushed it down to the side of the container. i used marker in a zillion places on a container until i found my grease pen, then that's what i switched to. i'm at the point this year to just use up all the seeds i have and plant out anything that grows, whether i know the name or not. i have a horrible problem area of of about 50x12 that needs to just be planted like mad, so that's my intention with whatever takes this year. i have plenty of containers in waiting which need attention soon. my grandbabe is adorable. whenever she sees me rinsing out or picking up a container, she asks if we are going to make a garden. gotta love the early on excitement. my son even helped the other day - went through some seeds, suggested they be planted and then taped up the containers and took them out. small help, but help nonetheless. does anyone grow pussy willow? if so, i'd like to arrange a trade for sometime this year. either white or pink, doesn't matter. just let me know. thanks. melissa, how's your little one? ready to post more pix? i keep hinting around - well, actually coming right out with it - about the kids having another one. i thought for a bit it was to be as my DIL was gaining a little belly and such, but was told no, it's just my cooking and the fact that they are actually eating meals every day (something that wasn't always happening when they were on their own). well, time to get moving. i actually went through all the motions of this being sunday and it was not too long ago i realized it's only saturday. be well and stay warm! maryanne GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!color>

My best friends are the girls I have known since childhood. Vicki, Kathy, Mary, Marilyn and Donna. Mary lived next door, Vicki and Kathy down the block, Marilyn around the corner and Donna I met the first day of Grade 9. She was the only one in the class who had a dress on. LOL I am close to all of them but they aren't necessarily close with each other. Vicki and I are close, Kathy and I are close, Marilyn and Mary are close, Kathy is Godmother to Mary's oldest. Marilyn has been close to each of us at different times but we all get along and a few times a year Mary has all of us over and sometimes Mary will only have Vicki, Kathy and I over. I spend most of my time with Vicki, Kathy and Donna. Vicki was with me at my Mom's bedside when she passed away and held my Mom's hand. Kathy's Mom just passed away a few weeks ago and I was really close to Kathy's Mom. Kathy's Dad called me his "adopted daughter" after my own Dad passed away. Kathy would say I was closer to her Dad than she was. He liked to tell stories and I liked to listen. LOL Mary's Mom is 91 years old and when she sold her house next door I missed her terribly. She is still going strong and I talked with her last week at Kathy's Mom's funeral. Donna knows Kathy from Grade school and knows Vicki through me. They are just acquaintances and know each other through me. Vicki's Mom used to be friends with my oldest sister since they grew up on the same street so Vicki's Mom has a picture of me and Vicki when we were just babies. All the girls are married except Kathy and I and still have good marriages. Marilyn met her husband Doug when we were in highschool and "had" to get married. LOL Those were some trying times. Mary's husband Mark was the boy around the corner - our paperboy and we always knew Mary and Mark would end up together since we were kids. Mary was Bucky and Mark was Duck. LOL Kathy was Moo, I was Higgy, Vicki was Druke and Marilyn was Armie. Kathy's Mom called me Higgy right up until the week she died. One day I will post pictures of us now that I have this laptop and once I get a scanner. We had such a good time growing up together and they will be my best friends 'til the day I die. Anne

Okay, I'll play, since I am fairly new to this site..... I use Phoggie (my son's dog's name), but I am Mary from the middle of Kansas and am 70 years young. I worked as a school secretary for 27 years until I retired. I was widowed twice...once when I was 33 and then again on this last New Year's Eve, just one minute until midnight.

From my first union, we were blessed with three children, two girls (now 47 and 50) and a son (45). I have 5 of the most wonderful grandchildren (but aren't they all?).

I am hoping to sell this big house and move to a much smaller town (only 3,000 of the most friendly, honest people anywhere), "back home" near where I lived all my life, except for the 11 years I have spent here with my late beloved husband.

I have enjoyed getting to know all of you, my new-found friends.

My user name is Rose, but my real name is "Patti G" which is the name I use on the "KT Daily Trivia" game. I have been a member since 2006, but have been a "lurker" for most of the time.
I have been married for 35 years, I am 59 years old and have 1 adult daughter (Alyssa). I live in AZ and my hobbies are reading and watercolor painting. I love the Kitchen Table.

I'm Eileen (user name eileen101). I've been on here a few times but have read this board for many years. I'm 60 yrs old, have 4 daughters and two grandchildren and have been married for 40 yrs. I live just outside of Phoenix in the West Valley via Long Island then Southern Cali for 33 yrs. The reason we're in the Phoenix area is because our oldest and her husband were able to transfer from Cali to Phoenix at Cali wages and my daughter was pregnant at the time. We zoomed to Phoenix to buy a house so we would be near out first grandchild. The other girls followed shortly after, so we're all Zonies now!

Hi! I'm SugarPlum (childhood nickname). I'm 49, an accountant who lives in Georgia. I'm married (21+ years), two children - 19 year old college freshman daughter and 17 year old high school junior son.

I've lurked for a few months, and posted on other THS forums. The Kitchen Table seems like a caring group!

I am Dee and live in the middle of the USofA. I will be married for 30 years the Aug, 2012. We have between us 6 kids and soon to be 9 grandkids. I am not sure how long I have been at THS, posting sometimes, when not so busy with the GK's. I am the oldest of 9, but those numbers are quickly going down, to fast. Just lost my last brother last week (had 3) and the sisters are all over the US. Glad I can have a place to come to with all the wonderful people that share the good and the not-so-good news...D

Hi, I am Cindy, 53 years old and have lived in NW Ohio all my life. I have been married 35 years and have 5 children and 9 grandchildren. I just started lurking here a little while ago. I found gardenweb when I was planning my new kitchen and spent a lot of time on the kitchen forum. This seems like a very friendly forum. I am looking forward to spending some time here.

Hi, I just posted a couple of comments and came across this thread so I'll play.

My name is Lynn and I usually hang out in the Kitchen forum, the Home Decorating forum and the conversation side of that forum. This whole forum, all of them, are filled with great, friendly and respectful people. This is the only blog that I visit.

I'm 59 and live in Vancouver (Canada) and have lived here my whole life. I have 2 sons 23 and 25 both just finished university and still, for now, living at home. I've always been a SAHM and I like making my house a home. I'm an avid reader, a runner, a gym-rat, and a gardener. Oh, and we have 2 cats - Charlie and Powder. (Powder is pure white and we are a family of skiers - hence his name)

My name is Darlene, I live in central florida, aka the mouse house. Have two adult sons and six grand daughters.
I have been married for 46 years and retired about six months ago. DH and I were looking forward to retirement so we could do all the things we have put off while raising our family.
Unfortunately, I went in for a routine physical, and was diagnosed with MDS a condition that will turn into leukemia. I am now trying to decide if I can withstand a bone marrow transplant ( I am 65 years young)!
Any prayers you can spare would be greatly appreciated!
I have lurked for a very long time, but decided maybe I could use a few friends, to talk to and occupy some of my time. Thank to all for entertaining this old gal. This forum is one of the few where you can agree to disagree.
Love reading the general chit chat even when I dont't post. Thanks to all for the entertainment!

PS. I am a one finger typist so please forgive any errors in my posts! Couple that with old age and chemo brain . . . Who do you call ghostbusters :)

I live in Missouri with my hubby of almost 25 years. Our only child just moved to Nebraska after graduating college and getting a job. We're missing her, but couldn't be more proud of her achievements. We also have 2 cats (1 just turned 20) and a small mixed breed dog. Besides occasional scrapbooking I am pretty much hobby-less right now.

Hi, I am Cat. I read here when I get time, but only occasionally post. I used to be a regular on the Computer Help Forum, for many many years. I am 73. I have a terminally ill hubby to care for, so dont have much computer time these days.

I guess I will jump on the bandwagon :) I am Abbey, and the cny in my user name stands for central New York, where I have lived my entire life. I retired after 35 years with the company now known as Verizon. Loving retirement, more time to spend with the niece and nephew and their children. I spend winter, spring, and summer at their lacrosse games. I enjoy fixing up my house, which is how I found That Home Site in the first place. Mother to 1 cat now, Annebelle. My Abigail went to the rainbow bridge a few weeks ago at the age of 19, and Annebelle and I are still adjusting to her loss. Over the years I have rejoiced, cried, and prayed with all of you, and while I am somewhat reserved in real life I hope to be able to make some contributions here. I will even bring some chocolate :)

I live in Westchester County, NY. I'm 58 and have been married 28 years. I have two daughters, 22 and 24. Both college graduates and both are working. Youngest lives and works in Pittsburgh where she went to school. Oldest works in NYC in textiles.
I work part time for a market research company doing descriptive analysis.

Hello to everyone! I feel like I know many of you although I have posted very infrequently. I am Dolores - my user name, woodchuck.mo, comes from my birthday of 2-2 (Groundhog Day) and also because I am a woodworker and live in MO. I am 67, married 33 years, with five children between us and 11 grandchildren. I retired a year ago last February after working for a military contractor for 39 years. My newest grandchildren are twins, a boy and a girl, born June 28th. I have been going to my son and daughter-in-law's house every morning and helping her with the babies. I am enjoying this very much as I was working when my other grandchildren were born.

This past year and a half of retirement has gone by scary fast. I have many interests and hobbies - woodworking (I love building furniture), crocheting (mainly afghans and baby blankets), reading, flea markets and yard sales, yard and garden, photo crafts. My sister and I retired about the same time and we have a great time doing things together.

@Darlene - prayers for your health. Do let us know how you are doing.

Hi Everyone! I guess you could say I'm a "new old friend"! I was first on The Kitchen Table not long after it started. Back in the days of Spike, etc. (Many of you old-timers will remember when..). Anyway, I've been on hiatus for quite a while, but I've recently started back. Have been "lurking" for several months now, so I decided to write. Anyway, I'm Vicki, a retired widow with 4 grown kids and 6 grandkids. I love recipes - not that I'm that great a cook - and anything with crafts and home decor. Not that I'm much good at those either. But I do have fun trying them out and seeing the finished products of others.

My name is Frog and I don't know how old I am,,,mebbe Seben, Mebbe Leben,,,mebbe even leben-teen.

I have never been married and never had a GF either,,,and I don't want one so forget the matchmaking baloney.

I don't know where I came from but since last Christmas I been living here with LazyPup & Jan and in April my nephew came to stay with us.

LazyPup taught me photography so I am now the Publisher, Senior Editor and head photographer for Lilly Pond Press, publishers of the "Frog Pond Gazette"

Sometimes either I or Nephew and I have little adventures and we like to share them with everybody on the GW KT board in hope that we might bring a smile.

I'm BONGO, I am very new here. I found 3 really swell gals in Oklahoma just last week. I decided to let them take me under their arms, legs, hips & boobs....... where ever they would let me or I could get by with..... he he.

If any of you nice people here want me to go home with them just let my ladies know and they will ship me right too you. I am a very "sexy" guy that loves women. I like to go places do exciting things and just love my picture taken. Maybe I can even meet that Necterine I've heard so much about...whoo who, she was my kind of girl!!!

Golly, that was fun to wake up to! We have not heard from too many of these new friends, have we? I am sure Darlene needs our special thoughts and our 'red shirts Thursday' and Cat...hope her DH is doing OK and I am sure she needs all the strength that we can send her way. How are you all doing???

I remember Spike, also.

Live in a rented farmhouse a couple of miles from the freeway between Detroit/Windsor and Toronto, about half way between. Have had a garden for several years - biggest ever, this year ... over 3/4 of a mile of rows ... and the weeds are succeeding in getting ahead of me.

Pleased to be in quite good health at over 80: son 50 nearby and daughter closing in on it, who, having dual ciizenship, has lived in Phoenix a couple of times over the past 15 years or so and now lives mostly with her partner who operates a motorcyle rental franchise on Cozumel, off the Mexican coast.
