red-shouldered hawk

I've had 4 hawks spending a lot of time in my yard in an urban area of Louisville, KY. for the past few weeks. The call sounds like a red-shouldered, and a friend told me that any hawks in this area would be cooper's or red-shouldered. Here's the mystery- I've heard a cooper's call and this is definitely not what I'm hearing. It's a key-ahh call. The hawks I'm seeing have grayish blue eyes and some reddish brown on the shoulders and head. I believe these are red-shouldered traits. But look at the tail in the photo. It looks just like a cooper's. The r-s tail is the opposite- white bands on a dark tail. My friend suggested maybe the 2 have inter-bred. Is this possible?
