jeanner: Yes, that's my top pond in the fourth pic down. Here are some pics of my water lillies in the top pond. These were taken over the weekend. The most blooms I have ever had open at one time: 9: These were taken at around 9 a.m. before all the lillies opened. These were taken around noon after they all opened. Here is one of the many pond spiders that live at the edge of my pond. I absolutely hate, hate, HATE spiders. I was shaking so bad when I took these pics some of them are blurry. Was trying to get my floating duck and ducklings unstuck with a stick when I hit the web and noticed it. Wonder how they get that web spun from one floating planter to the next without going into the water. This spider is so colorful I couldn't resist. After I took the pics I was shaking so bad I had to go ay down after I hurled. I still get the creeps looking at it. My son can't believe I did this either. What we won't do for our ponds!!!! Lol Enjoy. Jenny

Thanks so much again everyone! I really appreciate your kind comments and so happy you like the photographs. It's become a passion with me and the best part is I'm spending lots of time outside at this time of the year when it's easy to let oneself become housebound. David, so nice to 'see' you! So far I've not sold any of these photographs but I'm trying to figure out a way to market them. I was talking to Doug about seeing if I could get a gallery showing at one of our local colleges. I NEED to get out of the blind and get some of these images printed and framed. Mary, thanks so much! coming from you with your very talented professional photographer DH that is a wonderful compliment. Bug, eight Jays!!! How fabu! I've got a mob of them that show up a few times a day here as well. WE also have an enormous flock of American Robins, probably more than a hundred birds that have been roosting in the trees next door and making use of the pond (still not quite frozen over) and bird bath that has a heater in it. It is an odd irruption year for many species. I've a friend in the Carolinas who hasn't seen a single Goldfinch yet and she's never had a year where they didn't show up by the end of November. OK, I'll wait a few weeks until PFW is over and I have something to post, and then I'll start a new summer thread. That's my favorite cart. My father had the bigger one for many years and now my brother is using it. I loved the big one, but it's a little hard to maneuver so I bought the middle size a few years ago (many different suppliers sell these or similar carts). The mid-size one has a removable gate and spent the winter on my porch under the overhang next to a plastic toboggan. If there was no snow cover I'd roll the cart down the steps and use it to carry big bags of birdseed from the car. In case of snow, the plastic toboggan got delivery duty. The cart is out basking in the sun today. The toboggan is getting dusty. Claire

i can see how it could be an immature red shouldered. i meant to type def. not a red tailed. i also realized that he lives in FLA so red shouldered are pretty common around there. i still think it could possibly be broad winged considering the wing is mostly flat brown. also note the flank and leg feathers are not barred or streaked, where the florida RS is heavily streaked. the pic might be a little too blurry for anyone to be able to ID it. sorry if my last message came out wrong.
