I do know it's not squirrel. Squirrels leave pellets like mice and rabbits. It could be either the skunk or the opossum, as they both eat berries. What you are seeing are the seeds from the berries. It sadly looks like the critter left you a "present" on a nice piece of outdoor furniture in the second picture.

I was hoping that Jean had some valuable information for me, but the link shows no pictures to compare with, not to mention it's about Nebraska. As I said I live in Massachusettes, big difference in wildlife between the two. As far as the humorous jest at the end, I wouldn't have posted links to pictures of scat if I hadn't seen others do so on this forum already. Not only is the comment un-warranted but it reminds me of the kid who used to giggle in health class when the teacher would use words describing the human anatomy. The roof of this building is asphalt shingles and the parking lot cement, so tracks aren't an option, this is the only evidence I have, sorry if it offends the squeemish.

I love the unlovable animals too. toads, lizards, snakes(except copperheads),i've killed 2 copperheads and i was sure they were copperheads,we are overrun with the things and my hound was bit by one. I still feel bad about killing them as i even take spiders, granddaddy longlegs and grasshoppers outside to avoid killing them. i have heard a panther a time or two but never seen one. Don't use pesticides except once when a Direct tv serviceman made me sprey the wasp nests around our porch. They had never bothered me. I have never seen a possum around here. They must all live in town. LOL Have all kinds of birds, bugs, and creepy things. I leave them all alone except for copperheads and if they left my dogs alone i'd leave them alone. Its really true that its a jungle out there and humans are the most dangerous animal of all. vickie

My cousin owns a house on a 50 acre "farm" property. She has an old barn on the property, which they use to store vehicles and tools. She has lived there 30 years and people are always dumping unwanted kittens near the barn, feeling they'll have a place to be safe and catch mice and be fine. NOT! My cousin gathers them up and takes them to the ASPCA to be destroyed. I once thought she was cruel, but now I know she's not running an animal sanctuary. See all the above replies. No one thinks you should have to put up with this nuisance.
