I was hoping that Jean had some valuable information for me, but the link shows no pictures to compare with, not to mention it's about Nebraska. As I said I live in Massachusettes, big difference in wildlife between the two.

As far as the humorous jest at the end, I wouldn't have posted links to pictures of scat if I hadn't seen others do so on this forum already. Not only is the comment un-warranted but it reminds me of the kid who used to giggle in health class when the teacher would use words describing the human anatomy.

The roof of this building is asphalt shingles and the parking lot cement, so tracks aren't an option, this is the only evidence I have, sorry if it offends the squeemish.

If these deposits weren't located on the roof of your building, I'd immediately suspect fox or coyote. Coyote, in particular, will always have hair in their scat. As skilled urban hunters, who knows where their nocturnal wanderings may take them? There is obviously a means to get to the roof.

The only way onto the roof is a tree next to the building with its branches overhanging the roof, and a service ladder going up to the facia/sofit. It must be one crafty coyote to get up either, let alone down them. The other three sides to the building are surrounded by parking lot.

I did find hair today near the area of the ladder. It appears mostly white/grey in the center with darker ends, perhaps a black color and its a bit wavey along the length.

IDing scat is a very common way of figuring out who was there! I am intrigued by your situation and hope someone has the answer.

Guess they make them for education purposes. Anyway there are pictures of all kinds of poop. Looks kinda like opossum or racoon.

You don't say. I wish I had known this sooner, I would've taken some pictures of the scat and posted them on a website in hopes that someone with that kind of knowledge could help me . . .

Might be a grey fox. They can climb trees and the scat looks similar
