Haven't seen a tiger....saw a jaguar...like a jag hood ornament, I think it was topiary joes.. There is a place in Ore. that does animals, I have seen photos of several types of cattle and wildlife, including an elephant. They are not done in a frame, they are carved and shaped from trees....hence they take a long time to produce and are quite expensive. Large pieces are also usually custom ordered. Not sure if you are looking for a "sell for" value or a claim on the tax valuation? And what they would bring also depends on who might be at the sale. In it's present condition, I doubt that the dresser will bring more than $250, in a barn sale. And the mirror is a pier mirror, likely once stood in a frame on the floor and tilted as needed to reflect up or down. Very nice piece, put again only part of the whole. At a barn sale, perhaps $125? Unless your crowd will really be looking to bid the moon for the benefit of the animals, I'm afraid that's all you can expect. Linda C

They have a network of foster homes as well as a facility in Virginia (and volunteers who help to move cats around from state to state as needed). They may be able to help these guys. They have several cats listed in Ohio, and sometimes move cats to the VA. This is a wonderful organization and these kitties would find good homes. The cats do not have to be purebred, but they need to have a siamese connection and the kitty on the right definitely has the markings. They do take orientals too. I just want to say, I am pro helping animals. I love animals, especially dogs. It hurts when I see animals being mistreated. But although the link that you have put on this forum does show an aspect of the delicacy of dog in Asia, I wanted to point out that Korea actually breeds a certain breed of dog which is used for its cuisine. It's sad seeing the conditions that they are raised which is similar to chicken farms here in America. Or say how fois gras is made from geese/ducks. Not that it's crowded but small spaces. They don't go kidnapping dogs from neighborhoods. That might have happened in the past but for quite a while now, a certain type/breed of dog is used. Similar to how certain breeds of cow are used for meat. I'm sure that categorizing it is blunt and a bit brutal, but over there, it's considered normal. Now I'm not saying that I condone such practices but just wanted to inform of that fact. There's actually been documentaries on the practice. Change is slow and hard so I admire you for bringing the issue to light.
