I've never known any animal to eat any of the herbs you mention, with the exception of black swallowtail butterflies laying eggs on dill, which develop into green and yellow striped larvae, but they do minimal damage and the butterflies are so pretty, I just leave them alone. As a rule, nothing seems to bother most fragrant herbs.

In the top photo- I'd say squirrel. The 4 feet are all group together so that it appears to be hopping rather than walking. I believe rabbits have larger prints for their hind feet.

I was hoping that Jean had some valuable information for me, but the link shows no pictures to compare with, not to mention it's about Nebraska. As I said I live in Massachusettes, big difference in wildlife between the two. As far as the humorous jest at the end, I wouldn't have posted links to pictures of scat if I hadn't seen others do so on this forum already. Not only is the comment un-warranted but it reminds me of the kid who used to giggle in health class when the teacher would use words describing the human anatomy. The roof of this building is asphalt shingles and the parking lot cement, so tracks aren't an option, this is the only evidence I have, sorry if it offends the squeemish.

Thank you for identifying it as a mink lazy_gardens. Yes, it's about 24" long and I couldn't see any lighter coloured fur on its underbelly. It's a mink! Haven't seen it since so I guess it's moved on.
