My husband refutes my son and says it is a lynx spider (says they dont have to be green). He says they sit on leaves with a lasso and jump and grab upcoming prey.

Judging by the photograph, I'd say that this is one of the harvestman 'spiders ', which aren't true spiders. Its long, hinged legs and the wide attachment of the cephalothorax and abdomen, making it look like it has just one chubby body segment. It 'could ' be the angle from which the picture was taken, but I'm pretty sure you have a species of Opiliones....not a spider (Araneae)

It's not a spider. This is another type of arachnid known as a "Harvestman", or as these are better known in the US, a "Daddy Long Legs". Harvestmen differ from spiders in many respects. They have only one body segment, while spiders have two. They lack venom glands or fangs, so they cannot bite, and they feed almost exclusively on decaying plant material, algae and mold and mildew. They have no silk glands or spinnerettes, so they cannot produce a web, and unlike male spiders, which use specialized front legs called pedipalps for mating, male Harvestmen actually have a true penis! Contrary to the popular urban legend, these are NOT venomous at all; that got started in Australia where the Cellar Spider(Pholcus phalangiodes) is commonly referred to as a "Daddy Long-Legs", too. It IS venomous, but not the most venomous spider in the world by a long shot, and it can bite humans, contrary to that urban legend, but almost never does. Harvestman, on the other hand, cannot bite at all.
