Neat! I wish I could manage to get frogs but I think there is too much poison used around us by people who worry about mosquitos, etc. The visitor we got is common outside of a city but I didn't expect it right here in the middle of town. We got a muskrat! It was such a delight to watch it do laps. We knew it would not be staying so we enjoyed it while we could. Sandy

osprey!? In the burbs!? gotta go count the beta's in the pond... Lori, you'll find ospreys through out inland Florida, wherever there are lakes there are ospreys...just look at all the power pole top boxes installed along I-4 to keep them from building nests in the transmission line towers.... You are probably using way too much fish emulsion fertilizer :-) I'll bet you're right Lou ;-) Tom

Gosh, you mean after all our puzzling, my first guess is likely right? Haha! Sometimes you can OVERthink a problem, I reckon! A picture would be great, Gary. I would be really tickled to find a banded water snake in my pond. But I don't think one will find its way to my back yard, even after I actually have the pond in place. Wayne, would my resident black racers chase off other snakes? Since we've been here, I've seen 2 different adult racers, 1 over 3 feet, and 1 about 2 feet; one baby black racer (so pretty), and one garter snake. I saw the black racers daily during the spring and early summer, but I think they took to hiding during the hotter months, and only coming out at night. They must still be here, as I just saw the baby about ten days ago. Anyway, just wondering if I would likely have many other snakes with them in residence. Marcia
