I got a new camera for Christmas!

I can finally post a picture of the ivy, in my backyard, it has been nipped by freezing weather 2 or 3 times already, but you can still kinda see how big it was. I took this picture on Friday. Barbra,

Do you know the name of your red rose? It is gorgeous!

Have fun with the camera! They are great! I take pictures each year so I can look back and remember what was where...

Hello there crunchpa The picture was taken with a "Canon Powershot SX10IS" 20x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom /10MP. I have just been taking pictures of anything I can, to learn what the camera can do. I still have a lot to learn as I know nothing about them... Thanks for the reply. Your flowers and your photos are wonderful! Thank you for posting them. You've still got a lot going on in your yard for late December -- a zone 9 advantage! What kind of camera did you get? We'll be looking forward to more pictures.

Rose, I don't konw where the other pics were taken, but the ivy is here in SA. I have seen it with my own eyes.

Kathy, the only plant in San Antonio is the brugmansia and the Ivy( twice froze) all the other plants were taken on saturday in Rockport. I will be going down on friday to Rockport, to take cuttings on the passionfloras. I cannot tell you all the folks that want plants from the red one. I hope they root. Wish me luck. Barbra

Hey Barbra,

Glad that you got a new camera so you can post pictures of your beautiful RP gardens. One day we will get you to agree to be on the Hidden Gardens Tour.

I haven't seen you recently because I, we all, have been sick. We had Christmas dinner here with the neighbors, and we all have or have had the Rockport crud that is going around. Hopefully, I'll feel better and get to see you this weekend. It's very cold and very windy here today. Depending on which weather station we listen to, we might or might not get a freeze tonight. Hopefully we will not get one because all of my plants are looking pretty good right now.

I'm not positive but I think your red passionflora is a Passiflora vitifolia. I had one, but it didn't make it. The good thing about the reds are the caterpillars don't bother them like they do the purples.

I once had a red one here in SA. It grew up into an ash tree and onto the roof. DH said he was afraid it would strangle him in his sleep.

Kathy you are too funny. I will try and take cutting from it this weekend, and see if I can root it. It is just going crazy. I will also take cutting of the lavender lady. I hope I can root them, if so, guess what I will be taking to the next plant swap. Kathy I really do want to go to the Austin plant swap, since you live close to me, do you think we could go together?
