Going to our farm yesterday, the wife and I encountered a bald eagle eating a dead coon along the road. We were able to get pretty close to it before it flew away. It immediately returned, so I went back for a picture. However, another vehicle came, and it landed further down the field. Nice mature bird and not extremely common for our area. People are seeing more of them around here though.

Overall, it has been a pretty disappointing fall. All our local birds left, and we have had few visitors. This weekend was better though.
