Just playing with new camera

Just got a new camera. The one thing I really wanted in one was ability to take macro shots like some of you do. Didn't get that. But here's some as close up as I could get. I think they're pretty cool.

It's fine to post them here, but thought I'd take the opportunity to remind folks that the Texas Garden Web also has a Texas Gallery. I happened to notice on the Cottage Garden Forum that someone asked how many people visited the Cottage Garden Gallery. About a third of the people responding said they didn't even know there was a gallery!

There is also a conversation page as well as this discussion page. Look at the upper right on the opening page of this forum and you will see the links to those.

There's a lot of great pictures on the gallery and also links to garden tours. We have a lot of fun and informative discussions on those two forums as well as this one!

Hello there crunchpa The picture was taken with a "Canon Powershot SX10IS" 20x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom /10MP. I have just been taking pictures of anything I can, to learn what the camera can do. I still have a lot to learn as I know nothing about them... Thanks for the reply. I decided to just buy a new digital camera

I just went outside and made a little video, for some reason I was surprised that it had sound. LOL! You can hear the birds chirping! Cool. The pictures are ok, some were blurry. I haven't figured out how to use the zoom function yet. Test picture: I can see more detail in the up close pictures with this camera than my Kodak...oh, and yes, I meant Canon not Kodak, which is my old camera. It took videos too but I never used it for that. I gave that camera to Alex today. Thanks Iowagirl, I'll go back and print a copy of it to take with me...otherwise I will be lost when I actually go to do it. Thanks Glenda, I'll go check it out.
