I agree they make great little pets. My little girl Happy must be going on about 4 years old now. I got her from the SPCA a few years ago, she had been well looked after but her owner couldn't keep her in the apartment and hated to give her up. For a tiel mine is very quiet, rarely whistling unless she can hear me coming up the steps, trying to get my attention I suppose. Absolutely loves to come in the shower, she sits on the shower rod and spreads her wings for me to splash her. You can't eat any spaghetti or pasta without her kicking up a fuss to get out and get some off the plate either. I don't cover her, she never liked it from the time I got her, she just goes to sleep regardless if the lights on or not. I have a nightlight plugged in near her cage and that has helped stop any night frights. Like any budgie I'd advise getting your tiel accustomed to eating veggies asap so they know what they are. Leave it too late and there's the possibility they may never try them. They all need a variety of greens in the diet (not iceberg lettuce though as it contains nothing much and they eat it like candy) Just things like brocolli, carrots, and hot peppers which most birds relish even if you don't. What I do with all my birds is take a bit of bread and some veggies and puree it in one of those mini electric food processors (about $8 at Walmart). Or you can just puree a few chunks of vegetable and mix it in with a couple of tablespoons of cooked cous cous. To cook that small amount of cous cous,, just heat about 3 tablespoons of water in a cup in the microwave, about 40 seconds, and spoon in 2 tablespoons of cous cous, it softens up almost instantly and absorbs the water, then mix the purreed veggie stuff in it.. quick and easy and I haven't found a bird yet that doesn't love it.

Pea, I had same questions regarding the cell phone service available to a homeless when reading the story, but your posting surely opened my eyes. Thank you. Salti, I did not sense any nastiness from Pea's postings regarding homeless subject. The distance between homeowner and homeless is alarmingly short than most of us realized. I believe only one medical needs could put a lot of people cross that line. 6 months ago, DH had a procedure and only spent one night at the hospital. The hospital bill was more than $50k. We are still receiving bills from other services for the same illness. Imagine if we do not have employee insurance provided by big company, imagine if we are not capable of paying for the deductibles. This procedure will put DH in 'pre-existing condition' group, not sure how the insurance situation would be according to Dump healthcare plan, and not sure how much it would impact our financial well being in the future. Scary!

If you're looking for a warm gray I would suggest Benjamin Moore Gray Owl 2137-60. Light has a huge impact on how we see color (gray is especially fussy) so make sure to try a sample on the wall before you finalize your decision. For trim I would try Benjamin Moore Chelsea Gray HC-168. It will be a nice contract while still remaining warm toned.

@RedRyder, TN...where, I have a dear friend I met on houzz 10 years ago. She and her husband have come to the Cape twice to visit. She lives in Franklin. Last weekend my daughter and her gang went to Nashville where my TN friend's grandson was playing. Another dear friend on the Cape had a horse farm in Litchfield...Stone Horse. Her daughter is quite the horsewoman. Shown her horse and other horses at the farm. She built up quite a nice resume. Friend sold it when they moved here permanently and built quite a stunning house. The novel is set on Nantucket, but there was no way they could get the tons of equipment over there, so here they are. I got the opportunity to work with the set director and my friend for a few hours and I just got a check from Neflix, listing me as a consultant!!!!
