Swimming on wings?? If you're talking about Troy I never said that. She can float and swim like any other duck, just not as long. She can walk, but only with her right foot, so since it's ahrd for her she doesn't do much walking, but that doesn't mean she can't. Yes, she does use her wings to help herself get around. She balances herself with them mostly. She will wake up in the morning though and be on one side of the yard and by the end of the day be on the other end, it only takes her longer where it will take the other ducks 2 minutes to get to the other side and it might take Troy about 20 minutes. She walks, but not much at all. Troy doesn't need to be put to sleep though. She isn't like the rest of the ducks, but she still has strength and the will to live. As long as she's strong I'm going to be strong and help her take care of herself. She's one of the best ducks I've ever had and I love her dearly. I'd never do anything to harm or or hurt her. And were you talking about Troy when you said 'living in its own feces' because Troy doesn't live in those conditions. I clean out where she stays daily. She is able to move on her own, not that great, but she can get up and move. I'dappreciate it if you wouldn't tell me that you think euthanizing Troy would be the best thing for her. I'm not trying to argue with you, but I love that little duck and I don't like anyone to say things like that about her when she is in good health as far as her health goes, and still has the will to survive. Perfect - I agree. Thanks for pointing me in that direction. The field marks all seem to hit. And good to know about the hybridizing, in case some odd ones show up... It'll be easier to ID now. I need help IDing a duck. It was slightly larger than a mallard, had a pink bill with black/brown mottling/ had a black head with a white ring around the eye, a white ring around its neck, a light grey back, its legs seemed to be set further back on its body than the mallard (which leads me to believe it may be a diving duck?) and were a brownish grey color, and its tail was fairly wide and stuck up like a ruddy duck, but it was WAY bigger than a ruddy duck and other than the tail, looked nothing like a ruddy duck. It was the only one of its kind with some local mallards (4-5 drakes in eclipse plumage, 4-5 females, and about 5 or 6 of this year's juveniles), in a slow moving small creek (maybe 20-30 ft across and maybe 3 ft deep at the deepest). Can't figure out what this duck is, maybe a hybrid, a juvenile, or a drake in eclipse plumage, or some combination??? Any help or directions to who (or where) I should go for help would be appreciated!

This is a new rare Turkey Vulture/duck hybrid. Haha, just kidding. It's a Muscovy Duck. They are found in TX and FL and and are known for liking handouts.
