Cross-country trip.

Back in 1947, i took my mother and her 2 cousins on a trip out West and back. We each took $200 for expenses, etc. I had a new 1946 Pontiac sedan, so off we went!

Saw all of the tourist sites/sights, skipped Las Vegas, (Cousin Bob would have never left there!) Went to Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, saw lots of sights, took many pictures, stopped at relatives in La Canada, near L.A.! Managed to make it into Mexico about 2 miles, at Jaurez, had to drag Bob away from there, too!

Went to Grand canyon, Carlsbad Caverns, , came back thru Utah, then into Pueblo, Colorado to visit relatives there.(Not necessarily in that order--i'm writing this as i remember each place!)

Finally got home after one month of traveling and visiting, saw a lot of places, (rustypup has a lot of neat places to investigate,)

total cost of trip---? Not sure, but we all came home with money left over!

Meals were cheap and good, gasoline was 10-15 cents a gallon, admissions were cheap, motels didn't cost but $3 per night! Had no car trouble! Ahhh, for the good old days!
