Agreed. This isn't the time to debate the benefits and cultural mores of extended nursing. The OP was very specific. And I also agree that the function of kindergarten has changed. My cousin's daughter was expected to know how to read and write her own name, address, and several other things before entering kindergarten. Many districts are opting for full day kindergarten, teaching basic math skills, and implementing pretty advanced curriculum. When I was in kindergarten (I'm 28) it was about not running with scissors, waiting in line, and practicing tracing letters. Not only have the academics changed, but, in the course of that change, the amount of time spent on socio/emotional development has been shortened. If she's not at the same level of emotional development and social skills as other 4 - 5 year olds, then it may be appropriate to hold her back, send her to preschool, and work on those skills for a year. I had a Nov. birthday, and was one of the older people in my class. I can't remember that age -- either way -- was a big deal, except maybe when we were starting to drive. By high school, though, some kids will have been held back, so even if you start her late she won't be the oldest by much out of her original class, and there will likely be older kids who are repeating a grade. I really wouldn't let being the oldest/youngest be a determining factor. I also wouldn't let her start and then pull her out. In the long run, that's going to be more detrimental than helpful. It seems like delaying kindergarten is fairly common and accepted for boys. I'm wondering if some of the reaction is a little different because this is a girl?

Can you register her, but if you decided come August, that you don't want her in school, let them know???? I'd preregister her and take the next few months to really work on what you want and what she needs. They can't make you send her to school...But atleast she would be preregistered incase she and you are ready... I was one of the youngest in my class too...Did matter one way or the other for me...I turned 18 in July after Graduation. My brother was one of the oldest in his...He fit in too.(He's a November baby.) My oldest son, who is the only one of school age at the moment is an April baby...so pretty much a younger one, but in the middlish. He's a big kid, and a bit advanced in some areas of learning.. He's currently in a 4/5 split class room, as a 4th grader, who is actually in more 5th grade "work" groups than any other 4th grader in the two similar class rooms. So, I don't think any of your concerns are really about your daughter "handling" school...It's about what you want, and feel you need. Kids are extremely adaptable...I think you just need to sort out this in reguards to you. She'll be fine either way...Of that I'm almost positive.

"" When you turn the chair upside down you should see screws holding the seat to the chair frame in each corner. Remove the screws and the seat should lift off. For my chairs I had to remove the staples for the chambric (black lining), remove the staples for original piping, remove the staples and fabric of the original cover. Then I was able to replace the padding for the cushion. If you didn't want to replace the cushion, you can just recover your seats by removing the seats from the chairs, cutting off the existing piping (very sharp exacto knife works for this) staple your new fabric over the existing fabric, staple new piping to the bottom of the seat and refasten to your chair frame. not knowing all the details of course, but I'd guess the ones to blame would be your sheetrockers. I've had wires that were meant to be stubbed out of the wall pushed back in and pinched between the rock and the stud and screws driven through them. Sounds similar. I've had them drive screws right into the back of boxes before too, because they missed the stud on the opposite side, who knows why they were using 3" grabbers. Hell, one time the siding contractor did the same thing, only right into the bus of my panel that was on the other side of the wall. Point being, it might not have been the electricians fault. but who knows what really happened. I just find it hard to believe that a licensed electrician would do that, and it would pass a rough in inspection (again assuming you had the proper permits and everything, right?)
