its out in the middle of nowhere.. dont worry about it ... trees can take care of themselves for the most part .... it should be able to take care of itself... except for the fire bugs in the area ... lol ... and the nuts who keep rocking it back and forth ... lol .. all kidding aside.. if it were next to the house.. or overhanging it.. or any other harmful scenario.. i might think it all out... but out where it is... i would just watch how nature plays it all out.. which includes maybe falling over ... i wonder if you burned the roots on the fire side .... how big was this conflagration???? good luck ken

Found missing Mom : ( urgent action needed!!!

Nest change is done. I am happy to report that all 5 babies look great. No evidence of parasites on them, no peck marks, they are well. Pop has accepted the nest change and has allowed the last bunch of babies to continue to help feed. Don't know if the new Female is still around but Pop not calling anymore, hope he has put her in her place. I can find no evidence on what happened to Mom. I just know she died with her babies. I believe she died on the night of Friday the 29th. I don't know if it means anything but that is the night they started shooting big fireworks off. Sweet beautiful girl...RIP. Prayers for your babies!

Debi wrote: "I have an older Thomasville set through CL as well, with piping on the cushion. The cushions are attached to the frame, and I need to change the fabric. Wasn't sure how to do it. "" When you turn the chair upside down you should see screws holding the seat to the chair frame in each corner. Remove the screws and the seat should lift off. For my chairs I had to remove the staples for the chambric (black lining), remove the staples for original piping, remove the staples and fabric of the original cover. Then I was able to replace the padding for the cushion. If you didn't want to replace the cushion, you can just recover your seats by removing the seats from the chairs, cutting off the existing piping (very sharp exacto knife works for this) staple your new fabric over the existing fabric, staple new piping to the bottom of the seat and refasten to your chair frame. Hope this helps....(youtube.com has many clips showing how to recover dining rooms chairs, I din't see any that show the application of the piping though - its easy and you'll figure it out once you take your seat off and look at the how its done.) Good luck! Here is a link that might be useful: youtube

Accident waiting to happen....electrical wiring

not knowing all the details of course, but I'd guess the ones to blame would be your sheetrockers. I've had wires that were meant to be stubbed out of the wall pushed back in and pinched between the rock and the stud and screws driven through them. Sounds similar. I've had them drive screws right into the back of boxes before too, because they missed the stud on the opposite side, who knows why they were using 3" grabbers. Hell, one time the siding contractor did the same thing, only right into the bus of my panel that was on the other side of the wall. Point being, it might not have been the electricians fault. but who knows what really happened. I just find it hard to believe that a licensed electrician would do that, and it would pass a rough in inspection (again assuming you had the proper permits and everything, right?)

And.....double bonus....!!

My first visitor and also a first siting since my move here in 07:
Tufted Titmouse

Tufted Titmouse

I couldn't be happier. Not the best of photos but I was scrambling to get my camera turned on and basically shot blindly! He did grab a sunflower before he left.

Thanks for looking.

Not another darn bird all day! I watched relentlessly and finally threw in the the towel after hours, a break, more hours, a break, more hours; but.... tomorrow is a new day!

It should work well, Dax. Its new, a different color and it will take a bit for the birds to get used to it.

Thanks for the pix.

tj,

I believe so, too. This morning during five minutes the tufted titmouse came to the feeder twice and scored a sunflower heart.
So far, it's his feeder all to his-self. They're such timid birds and yesterday & this morning my cat has been within 3 meters of the feeders. My cat however likes birds and will often whimper at their presence. She tries saying 'rello'/'hello' to them. It's so cool. I believe it's possible that one day she'll have a bird, friend.

Take care,

Dax
