Comments (19)floral_uk z.8/9 SW UK- I was lived in Indonesia, now studying in Japan, in Indonesia I grow many arthocarpus sp, including the common breadfruit why? I still stick that this is cecropia, the stem is large even for so young seedling, and it is hollowed, there ants love to stay (this genus are associated with ants). Tips of stems also have stipule, these will exclude, sassafras, poisons ivy, or paper mulberry. (I never see sassafras and poisons ivy in Indonesia, not even in botanical garden, few collector grow paper mulberry. so it is unlikely pop-up as volunteer) cecropia is not Indonesian natives, but many near botanical garden area, as escapee.. seed are small. chuckerfly are you lives near Bogor, Jakarta or Java island? lets compare with this http://weeds.dpi.nsw.gov.au/WeedImages/Details/1180?NoWeeds=11 and it will be like this when it get older http://www.caminoverde.org/resources/photo-gallery/1712 to me it is a weed. but if you loves it keep it..could be nice as a pot plant...See MoreTree With Very Lobed, Jagged Leaves?
