It is a Brown Thrasher, beautiful birds which can be kinda shy but, they do like peanut butter suet and love to forage around under our birdfeeders. They have a beautiful song! We are lucky enough to have a pair here every year.

They also love to walk around in dead leaves, flipping the leaves over. Sometimes all you can see is the leaves flipping because theThrashers blend in so well.

Cool cjc. Yesterday I made a suet feeder. Watched for 2.5 hours straight realizing that any birds might need to be accustomed to something new, and no visitors. Then I decided (didn't help :-) to add oranges for color and a big old half orange on top of my shepherds hook. I watched non-stop from 11:30 am until 5:10 pm. The Brown Thrasher is a permanent part of my landscape, however. He was there all afternoon.

Hey Dax, not sure if the Thrasher will find that or not. They are primarily ground feeders. They do come up on our deck at times to eat the suet however we put ours in a flat dish, I actually use a flowerpot saucer for my suet dough and it is on the deck floor. I have had them eat from a suet cage once but that was because there was a branch right next to it for it to sit on. Good luck, hope you get your Thrasher dining soon.
