Finally! Baltimore O, Rose-breasted G

I've been hanging out a Baltimore Oriole feeder for 4 years now, putting out orange slices, etc, with no results; they preferred to hang out in my non-birder neighbor's trees eating tent caterpillars.

Early this morning in the rain just before I went back into the house after letting the new dog attend to business, a male Baltimore Oriole landed on the feeder. He kept moving from sipper to sipper in an agitated manner so I hurried to rinse out and replace the sugar water. The oriole came right back and drank at length, letting me take photos from the side deck.

Unfortunately, the Canon 40D auto-focus doesn't work well on cloudy days and the photos weren't clear.

But, hey! these are the first photos I've taken of a Baltimore Oriole at my feeder!

I've been hearing the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks hoarse voices singing in the woods for weeks now, but finally one landed on the feeder yesterday while we were home, returning this morning
