I've shipped many pkgs via Priority mail using the e-mail notification feature. I've received many more but am extremely fortunate in that we have the nicest mail lady, Tina. Being in the country, she delivers via a mail vehicle. Knowing how to butter up people, I give her an ARS rose calendar every year and often leave rose blooms in floral tubes in my mail box for her. When we get a package, she brings it to the door along with the other mail. If she knows we're not feeling well she'll bring our mail to the door. I ship roses and on one occassion a little water leaked through the box. I had taken it to the post office to ship and the counter clerk noticed the wet spot. She helped me repackage it right there. I've lived in smaller towns all my life with post offices that employ people who know of me and my rose hobby. I'm always treated well and they seem to go out of their way to assist me. Fortunately, I've never had an experience like yours. If I'm not going to be home, a note in my mailbox and/or on the door will get any package and the mail delivered to my neighbor's house.

I woke up at 7, thought 'wow some people were waiting at Kohl's when it opened 3 hours ago', rolled over and went back to sleep for another hour :-) I finally did venture out about 2 pm and bought several items, the most unusual (for me) being a roomba vacuum cleaner. My son had called earlier, saying that Big Lots had them for $100 off, he and his wife had bought one, and that his inlaws have one and use it all the time. I've done practically the whole house with it today and it did a pretty good job. Otherwise, a hard drive and dvd drive. The HD to replace the crashed one in my desktop pc :-( and some half off Christmas stuff at Hobby Lobby. Told my son I'd have saved a lot of money if he hadn't called me about the Roomba!

Thanks everyone! I did see today's show -- and DH & I were not part of the interviews that aired today. I think what they interviewed us for is not necessarily part of the show we were at -- they are using those for fill-ins on other shows. They probably do something like that every day. I'm just going to have to keep taping it to see if we get on!

It's interesting how many of you would share with the person or people who didn't play this time. If I were the person who didn't play, it would never occur to me that the others would cut me in for an equal share. I'm not a lottery player, but I thought this was part of the psychology - once you're in a pool or once you start playing the same numbers all the time, you feel like you have to keep playing because you'd be crushed if "your" pool or "your" numbers won when you weren't playing. If I were in the winning group, I'd vote for a substantial consolation prize for the one(s) who didn't play that week, but not for an equal share.
