did you REpot it? Only thing I can think is possibly the roots were disturbed and are not getting enough of the water you are giving it. Other than that>>I don't believe it would be too much water. Just my opinion.

Eliana Peat is usually ingredient of bagged soils, sometimes less and sometimes more of it. Why don't you check the bag for ingredients? The soil with it mixed in does feel 'light' but drainage may not be as good - did you check for drainage before using? Just because it says so on the bag (or maybe a sales staff tells you) - it may not be that good. That's why we add - or rather mix our own most often. Pumice, scoria, perlite, grit, turface are all great for improving drainage. Looking at the photo, I would also say too much peat (not saying it is all peat for sure-while it looks like it- but too much peat as a % of the mix) . Many discussions here are about the potting mixes suitable for succulents.

Are you referring to your Senecio? (possibly chalk sticks?) I think this is normal. I have this plant outside, planted in the ground. So I'll give you a few of my observations. I hope others will chime in. At least once a year my plant's leaves turn yellow and shrivel up. I thought my plant was dying, but left it alone to see if it would bounce back. And it did. And you can see the old yellow leaves and new "blue" leaves on my branching plant. As the leaves fall off you will likely get some back budding and branching. I just wanted to point out that this plant can grow pretty large. Here is a Senecio I put on my hill. Note where the 'fake stone paver' is located. Top is newly planted and bottom is a year or two later. They are great for covering an area in the landscape.

Hi everyone Emily - When I first started growing bromeliads (Tillandsias are also bromeliads despite what some people say). I was told by an elderly grower that if I looked at my plant's leaves, they would tell me what they required in the way of water. If the leaves were curling up at the edges, this meant that they needed more water. This was the plant's natural response and by doing this, the leaves were turned up so they were able to catch and hold more more water from rain or dew. If on the other hand the outside of the leaves were turned down, it prevented them trapping water and allowed it to run off immediately, thus preventing overwatering. In summary, if the leaves are turned down at the edges the plant has sufficient or too much water and if they are turned up they are too dry and require more water. I have always followed this rule when deciding when to water and it works well for me as an indicator. Finally, it's always worth remembering that more plants (of any type) are killed by too much water rather then too little; if you can't decide if the plant needs watering or not, put it off for another day or two rather than risk overwatering..
