Noisy baffle

This is my first year "parenting" bluebirds. I already had one brood w/out a baffle, and was then strongly urged by people on this forum to add one. The box is on a wooden post, so I made a baffle w/ a 12" piece of duct. I used several pieces of hardware cloth in order to make sure it was tight around the post.

I had the box open for awhile (couple of weeks or so) until I could get the baffle up. I haven't seen a bb anywhere around for at least a month - until a few minutes ago. I checked the box to see if perhaps she had started bldg. another nest but there was nothing. The wind is blowing a little today and I noticed the baffle was sort of rattling. I made it exactly as instructed, but b/c there is some play in it the metal tabs clink against the hardware cloth. We have extremely high winds here, so there will be times it's much worse.

Will this bother the birds? And if they moved on to have their second brood b/c I had the box open, will they come back?
