Back in 2005, we purchased a Hancock and Moore Leather sectional. We had an HM recliner and knew it was superior quality. A neighbor here in CA told us she and her husband and flown to NC to furnish their home and that the majority of the furniture was from Boyles. She highly recommended them. My best friend, who lives in NC and said he thought they were good too. We worked with a rep in the Hickory store, all over the phone, once we had researched exactly what we wanted and had sat on the very same model in our hometown. We priced the same sectional and leather grade at the most competitive furniture dealer in the SF Bay Area. The total cost for everything, including shipping was close to $8,000 (no tax) at the time. Our local dealer was $500 more and of course, tax would be included here. So we took the plunge and went with Boyles, never setting foot in their store. The sectional and foot rest/table arrived on time as promised and we were very happy with our purchase. About five or six years ago, our cushions were wearing down and we knew HM would send us new ones, at no extra charge, if necessary. When I called Boyles, they asked me for the order number/receipt etc., and I explained I could not find it. I told them that the tag number attached to the sectional should ID enough for them to trace it to me. But, they claimed they had gone through a computer conversion and sales made before the current time, when I was speaking to them, had all been lost in the conversion. I felt like that was,extremely poor business and thought I'd find the bill of sale, but never did. i don't remember calling HM at the time, but I should have, even though I didn't have any paperwork to back up my purchase. But I'm sure the tag number would tell them that the order went through Boyles. So here we are in 2017 and I'm pursuing this again. Unfortunately, HM doesn't have an email system to make any specific requests, just enough for me to supply contact info. I let our SF Bay Area competitor know what has happened and even though I didn't make the purchase through them, they are willing to go to bat for me and contact HM! I do have great rapport with them and have made some past purchases with them, as has my brother. While I can't say what the outcome will be, I bet Boyles wouldn't do that for a customer! They certainly blew me off, after I had made the most expensive furniture purchase we ever made, with them! Hopefully HM will come through for us. Had I fone through safer route with our dealer out here and spent the extra $500, it would have been worth it! Lesson learned!

That so sad about their mamma. Sounds like they have a great dad stepping in to take her place.

Always a treat to hear about your 'babies', Caroline. We're on round three of Cardinals -- if the young ones a-courtin' now lay eggs. We have mature arbor vitae around two sides of our lot -- and some privit that they seem to favor. I was drawn to the creek last week by calling between a pair of (I think?) Flickers and their four 'kids'. (Whistling cries; spotted breasts; red 'gorgets' on their necks.) They were searching for insects on tree trunks -- and probably finding plenty of emerald ash borers. We have some big tree removal bills coming up!

That's what I would do.........but I wonder if they would continually try to build it in the same place? Can you get a fake owl and prop it up there? That's what I've had to do at several of my windows, to keep a female cardinal from tapping on them all day long. Good luck!
