You know, it was not expensive in money OR time to do this, it was pretty darned simple. :) DH got a PS EyeToy color camera for $5.00 at Gamestop, and YahooLive is the host for the cam, sound and chat, at no cost to us. My husband had the know-how to get things going, but you can find out online and it isn't difficult or complicated. The number of people viewing the cam and talking in chat crashes my husband's computer sometimes, but we just restart things and everything's fine. We wanted to hatch chicks anyway, so thought we'd share the experience. The cam just pointed through the viewing panes in the lid of the incubator, now we set it inside the brooder box. Baby chicks DO have a wonderful effect on all who gaze upon them, it's like Valium for your eyes. *L* And yeah, it is VERY remarkable that Chicken Sister has babies this late in life--but then, both of the boys LOVE her to distraction, you should have seen them run over and burble over her when we brought her back from the vet after her egg-binding adventure. What a couple of love-struck chuckleheads. :) It was very sweet, they missed her so! We'll be hatching again the weekend of June 21st, and will resume chickam then, if anyone wants to watch. We will have our incubators issues solved before we start more eggs. Velvet ~:>

Some of them are essential for your applications of Milky Spore. Milky Spore affects the larvae, and it's in the larval carcasses that it will persist in a lawn. I know someone frugal who found an area where Milky Spore had been applied in the 60's and she went and dug up grub carcasses in fall that were white and dusty. That's how she got milky spore for her place.

OMG that's no longer a raft of eggs, but a cruise ship of cats! LOL! Your pics are fantastic and I find myself looking at all of them everytime I visit your page(s). I have 3 or 4 later instar TE cats and the catlets I rescued after hatching - they had already eaten their egg shells. Mmmmm sounds good huh? The HE and TE cats are very different in that the HEs have a row of yellow spots down the center of their back and the TEs have a dark stripe. I think the head capsule is larger, too, but let me know what you think when yours get bigger. Congrats!

Congratulations on your babies! We've also had hawks nest close by, although we didn't have to witness their droppings. We also have a family of Barred Owls living here, and last year we were lucky enough to have them nest near the house and raise 3 babies. It was fun watching them learn to fly, and catch snakes.
