not to change the subject, but in the photo I see three small trees in the back -- are these the river birches you mentioned? if so, may I inform you that river birches will get enormous -- far too large to have three of them so close to each other! I have a river birch clump (five main stems) that has grown to about 35 feet in 7 years.... Also, river birches are water-loving, so if yours are not doing well, it may be that they need more water. Good luck with moving your lilies -- don't forget to label them if it matters to you in relocating colors. I have various Asiatic and Oriental lilies in full sun as well as in 6-hour sunny area which do well. I haven't really noticed any major fading. You can pot the lilies into large-enough containers to hold them if you need to. The tall ones might need staking in some manner, tho.

I really appreciate the responses - I knew this probably was a bit absurd. Just not enough to go on. Comically enough, my husband and I saw a flock go by overhead a while ago and the same effect was visible. Sincerely doubt it was the same type of bird (again, too far away to make any i.d.)so it just goes to show how right you all are - very deceptive depending on all the environmental factors. Thinking of hanging binoculars permanently around my neck. :) Ging

Lindy, on my computer, those colors all look very green. Can you pull up a pale grey-blue instead of grey-green? Also, tan colors would work. I would not go burgundy on an MCM house. Thank you! I saw another Plover (Masked Lapwing) in the zoo as well - looked quite cool with his yellow face. I didn't care much for zoos before - hated to see anything caged. But now with accelerated climate change and habitat loss, I look on zoos as a modern day Noah's Ark and a place where at least a handful of individuals get their basic needs taken care of...
