Only 3 out of 5 eggs hatched

My second batch of bluebirds were suppose to hatch on Wednesday as I figured from the last egg laid, 3 of them hatched on Wednesday, and well I said to my self, Thursday the other two will probably hatch, well they didn't, Now it's Friday and I've written off the other two hatching as God has not ordained all things to work out as we would like them to. Let me back up some though, In the beginning she laid three eggs in a row, and missed a day, and then laid the two others, my gut feelings is that the last two she laid is the ones that didn't hatch. Has any one else had this happen and should I remove the eggs or wait to the three fledge. I noticed one of the eggs has been pushed down into the nest. My feelings are time has passed for them to hatch,and that they ain't hurting any thing being in the nest so I'll probably leave them in the nest instead of disturbing the nest. What are your feelings on this.

I have the same situation on my bluebird trail at Jones State Forest. 2 babies had hatched by noon on Wednesday. Today the third baby hatched. 2 eggs are left. If I can reach them easily next week when I check, I will remove them since we are in 90+ degrees here in SE Texas. But I have just left them in earlier broods this year and nothing happened.

Tiny eggs are extremely fragile. Unless you can get them out without breakage, you might be better off leaving them.

You will want to keep the lid on the container as the caterpillars will wander in-between instars looking for places to molt. And when they get ready to pupate, they can disappear and you won't find them until they eclose. One person on the forum had one pupate on the side of the toilet. I've found them on the phone cord and under cabinets. Just cause they're small doesn't mean they won't take off!

The parent birds know when to give up on an egg. They will either get rid of them, or leave them. When they leave them the eggs tend to get worked down to the bottom of the nest, and sometimes buried in nesting material. As the chick grows, he will also tamp them down while standing on them to beg for food.

Do you know how long she has been incubating? Blues eggs typically hatch anywhere from day 12-day 14. Mine hatched on day 13 this year however I haven't been able to tell if all six eggs hatched or not, I know for sure there were four in there on hatching day but the next day I couldn't tell at all, they were so bunched up and I haven't been able to look again due to too much wind and cool weather.
