What day was the last egg laid. Incubation typically starts the day the last egg was laid (they lay one egg per day until the clutch is complete). However during this wacky weather we had this Spring the start of incubation could have been delayed. Do you know for a fact that incubation started at when the last egg was laid? If not you cannot start counting from that date, you would need to count the 12-14 days from the start of incubation. I have heard of eggs hatching after 19 days so unless you know exactly when incubation started, I wouldn't do anything just yet. I would leave things alone for awhile.

I have personally had the eggs take 21 days exactly to hatch. I seriously thought they were bad, and went back a few hours later and they had begun hatching, Can't rush perfection. But like Donna says, begin counting once the last egg is laid.

That is 23 days ago, but I'll give them some more time.
I haven't checked the nest today, so maybe....

I've been beaten to the punch,lol, but I'll name an experience.

I had eggs that didn't hatch during the 12-14 day period. 2 days later still nothing, and I thought they were goners. Sure enough, I open that box to find new, healthy, hatched bluebirds!

I'd give it a little time. The birds may eventually figure it out too. If they abandon or re-lay, I'd examine the old eggs to find out what was wrong with them.

Have you seen the female or male around the box. I haven't seen mine in about a week. My eggs may not hatch. I will give it more time beyond the 12 to14 days.

We are on day 26, and nothing yet. I marked the eggs and the female is moving them & still incubating.
The past couple of years, the clutches have had unfertilized eggs along with some that did hatch.
Any more advice would be helpful. Thanks all the input!

I checked my nest today, eggs have not moved. Suppose to hatch any day now. Have a new nest in my other box. No eggs yet. I am wondering if this is the same pair. Maybe they abandoned the first nest for some reason. I will give it another week or so.

Tedbug, at least your female is incubating them. I haven't seen my female at all. Have no idea what is going on.

If they do re-lay, when does that take place if the other eggs do not hatch?

I'm not entirely sure when the re-laying takes place, but from what I've read I believe it can start almost immediately? The female may very well start building a new nest directly on top of the old one, or, may try again in another location. I may have read that they sometimes lay new eggs amongst a failed bunch, but I can't be 100% sure of that.

Okay, it's been 4 weeks, and the female has stopped incubating. I cleaned the eggs & old nest out this morning.
We'll just have to wait & see if they will build a new nest & lay more eggs.
