The assessment of trades above by @User is correct. You’ll need a HVAC person, an electrician, and someone to do drywall. You’ll also need a new dedicated electrical outlet for where you moved your MW. I’m not sure why there isn’t an outlet above the range, where you moved it from, but it wouldn’t be in the right place for a chimney hood if it were. That’s why you have to decide on the hood, and design everything around the exact hood’s specs. The location and shape of the duct and the electrical location is NOT universal. It’s normal to have to move or adjust everything, or do new. You need the specs and the hood on hand when talking to contractors. Don’t forget an exterior damper to keep cold air from infiltrating your home! You will get a better job, done faster, if you hire a General Contractor, rather than trying to hire the trades individually. They have their subs that they give lots of work to, and who will return phone calls and show up. And pull the permits that this will require. A homeowner doesn’t get the same price or response from the trades, and it takes weeks longer. I’d suggest posting on your local NextDoor or Facebook neighborhood or city group to look for a licensed and insured (check this!) contractor who can do a small job. But, it isn’t as small as you think!

I don't know the majority of actors today or the music out there (or who sings whatever). the few I do recognize by name/face is mostly because there was a news clip about them on something. the only 2 movies I've gone to see in the past 20 yrs are the Passion of Christ and Firehouse Dog. I like old country and rock 'n roll from the 50s-70s and gospel music. some newer country music in the 90s like Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, Vince Gill, Joe Diffie. I don't watch award shows, not even for country music - it's mostly the new stuff (which I don't think is worth listening to).

Thanks. That's helpful. I've never heard of remnants of blooms that look like seed pods, but maybe they are just the base of the flower once the petals have fallen off? If so, I guess I don't have seeds. Here is a picture of the flowers, some of which are still present on the plants. These are exclusively container plants. Yes, I suppose they'd be kind of invasive. I should add that when I pull off the flowers and roll them around in my fingers, there ARE little balls inside. There are tiny brown protrusions near the base of the green stems. Not sure I'd call them "thorns", though. Are these significant?

I have gardened in deer country for most of my life, and when I was still working, taught seminars on "Gardening Against Deer." With the understanding that hungry deer will eat anything, even if its poisonous, let me offer some basic suggestions when you are faced with deer. 1. Don't plant their favorites--phlox, tulips, hostas, yews (usually winter browse), daylililies, bulbous lilies, etc. 2. Whenever you put in a new plant, spray it well. They will ALWAYS try something new in the smorgasbord just to see if it's tasty. You want their first experience with it to be awful. 3. Be aware of the times of year they are most likely to eat your plants--late winter/early spring when they're really hungry and late summer/early fall when they're checking out winter browse and may go after young woody plants. 3. Use more than one repellent. I find Liquid Fence is good and stays on for some time, though of course it doesn't protect new growth unless you spray regularly. On another forum, someone has had great success with hanging bags of milorganite around the garden and he showed pictures of an orchard with pails of milorganite between the trees. A product called Repellex is a systemic that uses capsaicin to make plants unpalatable; you just sprinkle granules around the roots. It's apparently good for about a year. I've spoken to the owner of the company who did say that it isn't effective on deciduous woodies once the leaves have fallen, so in winter you'll need a physical barrier plus perhaps the LF and the milorganite. Since I have young trees/shrubs I'll need this until they outgrow the winter nibbling; then they'll be on their own. 4. Learn the palette of plants that they really are not interested in, and focus on those. It's actually quite large--Salvias, Agastaches, Nepetas, Perovskias, Caryopteris, Irises of all types, ornamental grasses, Carexes, Pulmonaria, Brunnera, Baptisias, Hellebores, Amsonias, Ferns, certain Geraniums (G. macrorrhizum and it's cultivars) Daffodils, Lycoris, Colchicums, and a great many less well known plants like Spigelia, Pardancandas, Filipendulas,--I really could go on and on. But SPRAY EVERY NEW PLANT WHEN YOU FIRST PLANT IT. This won't protect your gardens from deer in extraordinary conditions--drought, for example--but it will let you have a garden. Good luck, gardeners.
