I am so torn...

and my procrastination has finally gotten me back.

I noticed a few weeks ago that the house sparrows managed to chip away at the guard for the house. They've been going in and out and usually I pull out the nests before eggs are laid, but I've been very busy.

Today I was watching the feeders when a sparrow flew overhead with the telltale white clump. I went outside to check, and in the back of my mind I already knew... they laid eggs and hatched when I wasn't looking.

I heard the cheeping when I got close enough... and I just don't have the heart to pull out the nest now and leave the chicks defenseless. It's my fault for not pulling out the nest and discouraging the parents...

any thoughts?

I just feel like I'd throw up if I pulled out the nest and left the chicks to perish, plus the raccoons and skunks would be crawling around like you wouldn't believe.
