I second what kgsd said. Find an entry chandelier in the same metal as the one you have so they coordinate and move the other to the living room. Since the lights are facing up they won't bother you when you're on the couch. You can really put any chandelier in the foyer as long as they coordinate. You could try something similar to the link to match the one you have. If you want to change both, I would put a black iron chandelier in the LR and then a smaller one with crystals in the foyer but that might not be your style. That's just my personal taste. Thank you leela4 and holly-kay. leela 4 the light fixture over my dining table in our current house looks very similar to yours! Holly-kay, I'm indeed finding that going with the flow and working with what I have (and not stressing out too much) is easiest. But it is a process of weighing cost and preference and trying to find the balance that feels right. Should I let go of my vision for the kitchen that included stainless/satin nickel fixtures? Should I try to find a way to make it work in spite of lack of time and desire to stay in budget? I think I'll be happy either way - but thanks for reminding me to give myself a break! Always good advice.

Thanks SO much for your input. You've confirmed my suspicions about "losing" the fixtures against the black cabinets. Mayflowers, kelleg69 - it's kind of funny, our current corner is 90 degrees and have grown to be super annoyed at the wasted/difficult space to reach into the "dead" zone. Pic: Seeing all of the model homes with these diagonal corners and bumped up caught our eye. We are not doing cabinets to the ceiling (10 ft) as we have in our current home (9 ft) so I thought it was a nice breakup. In any event, we're locked in without costing big dollars. We're excited about our choices and can't wait to see them. cpartist, ravencajun - yes, we're doing a mixture of door and drawers, though the front side of the island is entirely cabinets that will be awkward to get to in any case because of the island overhang. All of the door cabinets (other than this side of the island) will have rollouts to avoid, as you say, crawling around. smm5525 - so out the box for us !! But who knows. It's been murderous finding something that might work.

@ci_lantro Oooh - I like that one too. Our iron door (not yet in our possession) will have 5 glass panels of what is called "water cubed" glass, so the varied glass on this fixture sort of fitting. The door will otherwise have very simple straight lines - black iron. I do have a first impression of this fixture seeming more Mission style - but I do see how it is very transitional (mid-century, craftsman) too. As much as I want to jump into this purchase so all these finishing touches can be in before move-in, this might be one best left until AFTER we have the cabinets, flooring, doors, windows, counters, paint, etc. in and done. I'm not a professional designer, but think I generally do pretty well figuring things out - this one just not getting that aha moment yet. I'm really a "less is more" person when it comes to design - bottomline, I want anyone walking into our home to NOT have to think too much - everything must be simple lines, have a sense of calm and belonging to the space, no clutter or stand-alone reason it is there. We will be using a luxury vinyl plank - WPC or SPC - which is another immediate issue of decision. So far I like the more realistic looks of Republic or SLCC brands, but I can't quite put the exact type/color together yet (grays with brown and black undertones I think will end up in the choice). Kind of want the choice to have a bit more modern than rustic look - will create a new thread for this dilemna, which I know many struggle with - knowing the stains for our beams and island will largely help me get this figured out.
