second clutch of eggs are white?

I've been fortunate to have bluebirds raise babies each year in my bluebird box. My record was last year, with three successful hatchings:)

This year, something strange is going on...

The first clutch of eggs, laid in April, were blue.

There were three (that I could see) and they were there and gone rather quickly.

Today (May 1) I opened the box, and found four WHITE eggs.

I've only seen bluebirds around the box.

I understand that bluebird eggs can, at times, be pure white.

But I never removed the first nest from last month, and I find it hard to believe a different female is using this old nest, so soon after the first batch of eggs.

Any thought about this??
