Can hear it, but can't see it

OK -- there's this bird that I've never seen and cannot find (!) who is apparently living in a tall, thick thicket on the side of my driveway along with the myriads of other common birds I know about. I've got finches, cardinals, towhees, thrashers, and sparrows and the occasional small group of waxwings (up high) all sharing this area.

For the last week here's what I've been hearing: a rather plaintive, medium-pitched pretty-toned, "coo-hoo" -- just those two notes about 30 seconds apart. Does anyone know what this is??
