Hi Maggie, How did the processing of your gander go? how are the ladies doing? Our little gosling hatched last Friday night, 3 days early and needed a bit of help near the end. It's doing great now, a real sweetheart! Here's some pictures. I'll be interested in hearing about your goslings and how you integrate them. I tried putting mine in with our ducks but the ducks attacked my little gos. Now it's my baby and will no doubt get spoiled rotten. I do hope to get them all living in peace once the gosling can hold it's own. Take care! Sheila

Hey Kenn, the eleven day old chicks are still in the box. The photo was of a second pair of Bluebirds that just showed up and started building a nest. The first pair built in a house at the back of our property and the new ones chose a box next to our garden by the house. Our two newest ones had one egg as of yesterday, they work really fast!! That female only showed up a week ago yesterday! The ones at the back of the property are 16 days old today so should be fledging soon. I sure hope they come back for a second nesting too. The Blues at the park fledged last weekend so I am awaiting a new nest being built by them too. Donna

Wow, that is amazing Donna. She's already started a new nest before her young have fledged! I'm so excited for you. The only time I had a third nesting here, she only laid 3 eggs on her third clutch. Your momma blue is quite the layer though. Six and then seven is just highly unusual. Please keep us informed on how many she lays for clutch number three.

Congrats on the fledging and the second nesting. I am very anxious for the fledging of our nestlings, because it will be our first successful fledging. I'm also bummed that we will most likely be on vacation when they fledge: we are leaving for a week starting on the 11th, and today is their 8th or 9th day. I have no idea if they will stick around or not...hopefully I can atleast see them once when we get back just to be sure that they made it and are safe. Maybe mine will fledge late so I get to see them, however it is very doubtful since it is late in the season and I'm providing mealworms; I'm really just hoping for healthy fledglings. I think my TRES will be fledging today or tomorrow. I have been seeing heads poking out and hearing a lot of wing-flapping.
