My momma Chickadee is now incubating five eggs!! I finally went out and looked yesterday. The Dees are the only birds I have seen around their box lately. I talked while walking up to the nestbox, knocked on the nestbox and nothing so I thought she was out. When I opened it though is when she flew out, then she sat not too far away and just watched me, never scolded me or anything, this is what I saw inside. She has totally redone her little nestcup as the wren had wrecked what she had in there. As you can see the eggs are no longer sitting right on the bottom of the nestbox.

In our TRES boxes, two pairs are incubating six eggs, two other pairs have three eggs as of last check, one pair has one egg and the other pair I cannot look at.

Last Thursday I noticed a pair of Blues house hunting, Friday nothing, Saturday I was gone most of the day but didn't see them at all when I was home. Yesterday they were here all day and mom was nestbuilding in the box at the edge of our veggie garden, outside my bathroom window. LOL! Today they are doing what they love to do to us nestbox monitors that freaks us out, where are they??? I have seen the male but not hide nor hair of the female yet.

Down at the park near us a pair of Blues in incubating five eggs, a pair of TRES is incubating six eggs and another pair of TRES has two eggs.

Yesterday I was outside and saw a Pileated Woodpecker in our woods! Later I saw another one (or the same one) at the park near us. I saw a Veery on our lawn and down at the park were a bunch of Yellow Warblers and American Redstarts too along with lots of the normal birds. It was a beautiful day yesterday too, warm (upper 60's) and breezy but not too bad, it has been a very very windy Spring so far. Oh and the other day I saw for the first time a Palm Warbler passing through. So far it has been a great year for bird watching.
