Buying Yellow St. Augustine

I'm in North Texas and in desperate need of St. Augustine sodding ASAP. I've contacted several local outlets and the price ranges from .99/square to 1.29/square.

I also found one that is offering it at .50/square. Over the phone they described it as "older" and "yellowing". I haven't seen it yet, but they insist it can be salvaged.

Anyone have any experience in buying and rehabilitating "older" and "yellowing" St. Augustine? I don't want to waste the money or the time of having to do it again if I can't save this older & yellowing discount sod, so I'm willing to go for the higher rates. But if all "old yeller" needs is a little sun, fertilizer, water, and unstacking, then I'm inclinded to go with it.

What has your experience been?

Thanks in advance.
