these are dark eyed slate colored juncos. the yellow beak is a giveaway. Lots of people call them snowbirds as they often show up when it starts storming especialy snow they usually are ground feeders but will eat anywhere they can perch

Dark eyed juncos vary in color, some are distinctly slate colored dark with whitish breasts, others are more brown but they all have that distinct breast pattern and pink beaks. I have both colors at the feeders this year. The first brown one I noticed at my feeder a couple of years ago went unidentified until I got a new (Sibley's) book that had both colors pictured.
