I am a vocalist for my blues band.BigRed and the Soul Benders.I like any thing blues related,anything blue as in blue flowers or flowers with blue in the name. Anything music related.Like music notes,lil statues of musicians,microphones,photos of blues artists,ect... I love morning glory's& moonvines ,aroids,and begonias.I am trying to build a shade garden of all Blues .I love handmade things they seem to be more from the heart.I am a water color and pencil artist.I love coffee and have an expresso machine wich I use almost daily.lol its addictive!

Hi everyone! I am doing a Craft Fair this weekend, so I haven't had time to post, so a quick check in... Amy is actually January, Kelley is Feb, b/c Jan was taken, so if amy could post a few things about her likes and hobbies, colors, scents, items she is wishing for we will be able to start thinking about making her month special!! I will email the group privately, just so everyone gets back to check on the board!

I have just moved to Georgia from Florida and I am learning how to garden further North. It is very different from S.W Fl.
I love to garden and all flowers especially the fragrant ones. I love anything scented and like all colors. My newest hobby is sewing. I have started making purses just for fun and PJ's for my youngest boys. I have 5 boys. The youngest is 3 and the oldest is 17.

About Me ~ I have an 11 yr. old daughter, 2 dogs, 3 house cats, 18+ barn cats ~ more show up every week it seems like, 4 horses, to many cattle to count, 2 VERY full fish tanks with a little of every thing in them and 2 baby Beta's ~ need to get more tanks or find homes for some of them as they are out growing their homes. I enjoy reading romance and historical books, LOVE Football ~ S.F. 49er's & the Wyoming Cowboys are my favorite teams. I crochet, knit, sew, cross stitch, quilt and of course ~ veggie and flower gardening. I also enjoy traveling, I am a Cowboy Fast Draw competitor and collect miniture knives ( the ones that are shaped like animals, shoes and so on). I have about 1 ½ acre's that I am planting in daylilys, iris and summer blooming wild flowers. I am putting together a 20' x 30' cactus/drought resistant garden and am always on the look out for Zone 5 hardy plants for that. I built an arch way (7' x 6') for my grape vines last summer and will be extending that for a 'secret garden' that will need fairy's and like wise goodies. I am the only female at my job so girly stuff is nice also :) chocolate, smell good stuff, jewlery. and I love surprises!

Stay warm all ~ the high here today was 10 and the low will be -30 to -35 tonight!! Holy COW, huh! Oh, we are also going to have a breeze of 30 to 40 miles an hour! Gotta love Wyoming weather, right?

Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, old man winter has arrived. We have had temps down to -7 with wind chills of -20. We don't usually get these temps until mid Jan - mid - Feb.
I hope my gardens make it. I never did get time to dig up my cannas, so I just know I lost them all :-(.
The rabbits have chewed my roses down to the ground. I hope they make it. Only time will tell.

Even though I know this will change along with the seasons, LoL, here is the "about me" info.

I am a mother of 3, one daughter and two sons. We have a dog, 4 cats and 6 birds (cockateils). I am married to my very best friend.
I collect roosters, or things with roosters on them. My house is decorated like Tuscany Italy (my favorite dream place). I love my gardens! I collect hosta's, daylilies, lilies. I love all plants. My husband made me a garden room so I could overwinter some tropicals indoors this year. He is going ot add to it next summer with an outdoor greenhouse that will be attatched. For indoor plants, I collect hoyas, philos, violets, begonias and blooming cactus'. I can't think of one plant that I don't like :-)
My absolute favorite is variegated foliage plants.
I am attempting my first at winter sowing and looking forward to it. Will save LOTS of space in the house this year, smiles.

There are many things listed on my exchange page. I am pretty easy to please and will love whatever you choose to send.

I have plenty of time to figure out what I want as I am a December baby. Anyway, I have some bulbs that could work for Amy but I would like to know a bit more about what she would love and if she can still plant now. I have a foot of snow so I will not be planting anything for many months but I know the whole world is not like that. I also wonder what the soil is like in her part of the world as Georgia brings the word "clay" to mind for me. Am I correct or do you have better soil than that? Let us know either via this forum or put some info into your page on the gardenweb. I would like to start thinking about it now. Have a wonderful holiday all. Enjoy the season of giving. diene

I live in central Georgia and I do have clay soil. The temperature has been about 30s at night and warms up during the day to 50-60s. I just moved here so Georgia gardening is VERY new to me.

My favorite scent is cinnamon and apple. I love all colors and dont really have a favorite. I love lavender,scented geraniums, hyacinths, lilacs, honeysuckle, datura, paperwhites,roses, especially because I love fragrant flowers. The more fragrant the better. I also want to start a shade garden and grow some house plants. I live in central Georgia and have clay soil. I just moved here in June so I need to learn as much as possible about Georgia gardening. I lived in South Florida before and it gets quite a bit colder here. My hobbies are gardening and sewing. I have started making purses and I love it. I love fabric, thread, embellishments and anything to do with sewing. My favorite indulgence is definitely dark chocolate. I have emailed Steph my address and I am hoping that she has it. Amy

Kelley, Thank you so much for the beautiful picture of the hummingbird and morning glories. It is so pretty I am going to get a frame and hang it up right away. You are a awesome artist. I also love the card and the neat glass beads. I will use them for my craft projects. I love ALL of my seeds and I am going to winter sow them. (Purple double and triple datura, datura discolor, white brugmansia and dwarf columbine. I am so excited, I love fragrant flowers so much. This is definitely the most exciting Birthday that I have ever had and it is the big 40 which I cant believe, it seems like just yesterday I was 20. Thank you again so so much. Here is my about me.
My birthday is in July but since it was taken already by the originater of the robin, I am the APRIL person. It was the nearest month left open and works out nicely because it was my mother's birthday month. My favorite color is blue and I do have a preference for blue flowers. I love Iris, and have been adding a lot of Siberian Iris to my gardens the last year.But really I love about anything that is blooming. I am adding a "fairy garden" to an area outside my bedroom that has sun and shade areas. I am trying to add plants with fairy in the name or with bell shaped flowers as well as fairy statues. I have also added several clematis to my garden last year and am waiting to see how they turn out. I am also working on a garden of pink flowers for my little 1 year old granddaughter. I love bulbs, spring,summer or fall flowering. It is very very hot and dry here in the summer and we have alkaline clay soil. I like decorative socks, bird houses, garden ornaments of about any kind, chocolate,and love to read gardening books and magazines. And since some are talking ages, I will be the big 50 this year and loving every minute of it.
