I found it too late. I think it's a Yellow-rumped Warbler.

Yes, I live in the Northern San Francisco Bay Area. I've been watching and feeding the birds in my back yard for 15 years. That is the first Warbler of any type that I've seen there. I hope I start seeing a lot more. Many things are green here but the weather has been cold (for our area) and foggy. Yesterday was the first sunny afternoon in quite a while and the birds really turned out. The bird bath was busy with Golden and White-crowned Sparrows, Robins and in this picture a Cedar Waxwing. The dormant plant on the right is a clematis which I should wait until February to cut back but may not.

What kind of Clematis? I have a viticelli hybrid, Polish Spirit, and any in this group are so vigorous, you can hack them back any time of the year practically. After the major flush of bloom, I cut them way back to allow my Passion vine to grow and show off the rest of the summer.

I think we get Cedar Waxwings and White-Crowned Sparrows in Oklahoma, but I am not sure whether or not they show up in the city or stay closer to more rural areas. I have seen the waxwings in spring, but this is my first year birding and have only seen the White-Breased Nuthatch, Carolina Wren, Tree Sparrows, HOSPs, Cardinals, Blue Jays, House Finches, Robins, and Eurasian Collared Doves.

Wish it was warmer here. Supposed to get down to 2 degrees tomorrow night.

It's a Jackmanii Superba. I agree, clematis are a lot tougher than people give them credit for. The 'experts' say I should wait until the end of February to prune them. After I posted yesterday I decided I was tired of looking at it and pruned it.

Love your bird bath photo-nice variety. The only birds I've seen bathing in ours are Tufted Titmice..maybe because it's on a small deck next to the front window.

That bird bath gets pretty busy sometimes. Last winter I had to go out and break up the ice and refill it. Thirty minutes later I had to refill it because the Robins and Cedar Waxwings had emptied it. I made a video with my canon sx10is and posted it on youtube. The commentary is by my grandson Alex.
