Fragrant Oleanders looking for some more
Comments (9)Lucy, You will have to help me root some cutting for him. It smells like bubble gum sort of and roses but more sweet, lol. Kylie stuck a long branch of it in the lotus pot. I'll have to check on it. Maybe I'll be surprised and it rooted. The first time I saw her with a big spray of the flowers I thought she had swiped roses out of somebody else's yard since I don't have the cluster kind, lol. I couldn't believe it was the oleander. never really looked at the flowers up close. Just enjoyed the whole bush....See MoreFragrant Oleander
Comments (3)The fragrant oleanders have double flowers and no seeds. There use to be one on the corner here with the other kind. I love that smell! Sorry don't know where to get one but if you can find one maybe take cuttings for yourself....See Morefragrant oleanders
Comments (7)I moved from Phoenix twenty plus years ago and though I vacation there often I have never seen a true yellow, true Oleander. Thevitia does grow well in Phoenix, they are very common as are Oleanders. Personally, I love the little dwarf pink Oleanders that were just starting to show up when I moved. When I worked at a nursery in Phoenix we only had big ones in red, pink and white. I've always loved the white ones, their foliage is so dark and they glow at night. I've wanted a dwarf pink for my greenhouse here in Oregon but haven't found one locally and am not going to pay big bucks for mail order. I need to go home to smuggle one in my suitcase........See Morefragrant oleanders
Comments (12)Yes Adam. the old Double white is strongly fragrant...I have a huge one in my garden and could smell the scent from it metres away this afternoon..It is in full bloom and will stay that way now for months...If you take care of them they will reward you greatly...they will still put on a show even if neglected but look all the better for a little care... I find if I prune them back each year in late Autumn/early Winter by about a third..they will be a mass of blooms come Sept/Oct.....I have a couple of the beautiful single pink punctatum either side of my front gate which I have pruned into standards...they are real eyecatchers.. Mrs Roeding is not as tall a grower as Splendens or D.White. You are lucky to have found sunshine...I have been searching for ages.. Cheers, Judy...See Moremarcelj
