Wintersown Tomatoes and Progress.....14 pics

Actually some were partially wintersown. Sown in their wintersow gallon jugs and put outdoors on March 23rd/24th. Normally they would have stayed out all the way through, but with our unseasonably cool Apr/May weather I brought the containers in for 3-4 consecutive nights. All were straight back outside upon radical emergence to finish off :)

All seedlings planted out in the 1st-3rd true leaf stage on May 17th. The first sowing of Black Cherry were duds and re-sown (thanks to strmywthr's donation of seed)on May 15th and planted June 11th.

To compare, my neighbors FFA student greenhouse peppers that she bought and planted a week after mine starting fruiting appx. 1 week earlier than mine (they were older). However her plants were also not in very good health...pretty spindly. Today mine are approximately 3-4' tall, trained to one or 2 vines depending, all in the ground (brand new bed amended with rabbit manure/bedding mix) except 2 Wisconsin 55 in 5 gal. containers and Black Cherry in another mixed bed.

Anyhoo here they are as of July 14th.
