Well, speaking from experience, I can tell you that there are three types of cannabis. Cannabis cannabis is the industrial "rope" plant. No THC at all. Cannabis sativa is the columbian/Mexican type that is a staple in a drug user's life. Most Marijuana falls in this category. Canabis Indica is the Skunky smelling kind that everyone grows in the home garden and indoors, mainly due to it's strength and taste. If you never notice it growing before, that means it was probably put there, either by someone or something. I have seen a plant spring up when someone dropped a seed while preparing to smoke outdoors, but to have several, the mother must have gone to seed(meaning it was there at the end of last growing season) or it was put there. Being that you are a Fed official, I would question that someone may have been pulling a joke on you(Think neighborhood hoodlums).

Actually some ants do bring the aphids to the plants, others are opportunistic farmers. It's misleading to talk about ants, or aphids, as if they are all the same. There are thousands of different, unique types of ants in the world and they don't even all eat the same things. There are populations of aphids that are winged and fly to new plants, others are carried by ants. The OP probably has both types occurring. There are some cases where I ignore aphids happening, like trees and sunflowers, since large plants often don't seem to care. Also some populations of aphid are not large enough for me to bother with. Anyway, for the OP's particular case, I would say if the ants ignored the bait, then it isn't the right type of food for them. Baits can be protien based or sugar based. Sugar based baits are probably appropriate for the ants in question, but even that may not be enough to get them to sample it. Since they are feeding on honeydew, it is likely that these ants will go for a bait that is in a liquid or at least gel, form. I think you can find baits and traps online that will work. I made a homemade bait of sugar water and borax that worked pretty well last year, but you have to be careful with the borax. It's pretty much harmless to us and most wildlife, but the plants really don't like excess boron. Don't know if any of that will prove useful to you in the long run, since a lot of what you are seeing sounds environmentally based. But sometimes a little intervention can give a plant enough energy to survive until the weather or soil get to be more copeacetic.

A bit of background on Orange Strawberry for those of you who might be interested. Marjorie Morris of Indiana sent me the seeds for it and I listed it in the SSE Yearbook quite a few years ago and from there, as happens with many varieties so listed, it has been picked up and offered at several seed companies. Marjorie found this variety as a stray seed in a pack of commercial Pineapple tomato seeds. From the pictures I've seen it doesn't seem to be the same as what some are calling German Orange Strawberry, but I can't be sure. I think someone tacked the German onto the name b'c they knew of the variety German Red Strawberry. Marjorie also had sent me seeds for German Red Strawberry which again I first listed in the SSE Yearbook many years ago but GRS is a family heirloom from Germany, so deserves the German in the variety name whereas Orange Strawberry does not. I am in the same situation. It’s New Years Day and I am lying here depressed. My adult son came to temporarily live with me and my new husband of 2 years about 7 months ago. He asked and my husband said yes. My husband decided not to charge him rent or anything, even told him he can eat what we eat, wash clothes, basically our home is his home. We have a written agreement which we all signed. My son takes out the garbage and cuts grass, clean his room & bathroom. He’s making plans to move back out as agreed. He has savings. Is my son perfect? No, but he is not disrespectful. Other than not walking around the house naked, nothing else has changed in our marital relationship. My husband took it upon himself to step in as a father to my son and even asked my son if that was ok. His biological father…didnt do his job and has no real relationship with him. My husband and son get along fine. However i know my husband is faking it. If my son makes one mistake or forget something, my husband is very critical and judgemental. He complains to me telling lies about my son and says hateful things about my son. i love my husband but this is unacceptable to me. i am beyond hurt and angry. My son doesnt even know how my husband really feels. What brought to this post…my husband thought my son had left and left the door unlocked at 2am. My son was actually outside. Anyway all i literally said was to tell him and immediately he accused me of coming to my son’s defense and starts going off. I am confused. If someone does something wrong or forgot something, isnt the natural thing to do is tell them? What did I say wrong? There is so much more I could say to paint the picture of everything that has gone on. I dont want a divorce but this is too crazy!
