My tomato leaves have spots.

Little light-colored spots all over. They look like light green/yellow chicken pocks.

I tried to look for bugs and what I saw were some tiny, tiny little black bugs. They looked like they had wings but they were too small to see.

Also, strangely enough, underneath the mulch I found a bunch of weird mushrooms. They were light and papery.

Were the spots holes that went all the way through the leaves? Indicative of flea beetles which are tiny black bugs and generally harmless in small numbers. Otherwise, this may be a frequently asked question so check the FAQ and do a search for leaf spots.

Sounds like they may be aphids if not flea beetles. You can find pictures of both on the web for comparison. You can just hose both of them off with water too as the spots/holes won't really harm the plant much. The "mushrooms" sprouting usually means your soil is being kept too wet -let it dry out some and they will disappear. The fungus that produces them is very common in mulches but again they won't harm the plants.

Look on the following web site. I believe this is bacterial spot. Symptoms: Bacterial speck is widely distributed. Symptoms may appear on any plant part. Leaves of infected plants are covered by small, dark brown, irregular patches of necrotic tissue that are surrounded by yellow halos. Disease severity is increased by leaf wetness from sprinkler irrigation, rain, or heavy dews. Control: Minimize wetting of the leaves by using drip or furrow irrigation. I don't know what the brown spots are, it may just be cell death from transplanting. Your plant looks healthy to me. In California we don't need to remove the "suckers" from our tomatoes. It gets so hot here most people want as much foliage as possible so that the plants shade the fruit and they don't get sunscald. I would not pick off anything that looks like it could be a flower. Yeah I'm in Canada so it's not late in the growing season for us. ;) This might actually be a blessing in diguise since when I went to get more seedlings I decided to branch out, variety-wise. So now I've added another tomato growing location and am experimenting with Sweet 100, Sweet Million, Ultra Girl and Better Boy. I know they may seem like a bunch of boring old hybrids to you tomato veterans but it's plenty of adventure for a novice like me. Thanks for the help folks and I'll be sure to keep you posted on my progress (threat or promise??). Love this forum.

I'm no expert, but if they were my plants I'd blame the rain, but keep an eye on them. Now, I'm assuming you've had quite a bit of rain. Or perhaps only a few inches, but the tomatoes are in a low-lying area, or your soil doesn't drain as well as you'd like. Anyway, have a look at the thread linked below.
