Pea leaves turning pale

Hi all,

I think this is my first post here, but I read the forum for education fairly often.

I had a question about my peas. I'll have to check the seed packet at home if you need to know which kind (which I'm sure would be helpful for answering my question)...

Anyway, I planted several peas (from seed) in my new SFG. When they sprouted, and for the first few weeks they were nice vibrant green. They are still only about 4-5 inches tall. Over the past couple weeks, the green has turned much more pale. The plants look fine, they don't look like they are dying off or anything, but the green just doesn't look as vibrant.

Can anyone tell me what might be causing this? Again, the plants look healthy. Could this be a case of them getting too much water? We've gotten dumped on with the storms lately.

Pale green (sorry, can't see it so well here, but they are upper right hand corner): http://bit.ly/BEYhG

P.S. Note the CRATERS in the last pic. That's from the tennis-ball sized hail we just got!!!

Thanks in advance, garden gurus!
